[ CHAPTER TEN ]

I SCRUNCHED UP MY NOSE, the scent of the flowers tickling my nose. Grandma was in front of Mia and me, leading us further into the greenhouse. Mia was besides me, looking around at the flowers and plants in awe.

"This place was such a place when I first arrived. I've been spending every spare moment in it I can. Pick up one of these, you two. Make yourselves useful. Spray everything." Grandma told both Mia and as she handed us the small clear plastic bottles

"You're not for what happened?" Mia asked our grandmother in shock with her response to what happened last night

"Actually, I found it rather funny." Grandma revealed to Mia as she turned her head to look at her 

"I know that this will make me sound like a bad sister, but, I wish I saw what happened." I told Mia with a small smile on my face 

"Reminds me of my first royal dinner party. I accidentally knocked over a suit of armor and the spear went through the suckling pig." Grandma revealed more information as she laughed lightly in the end in remembrance 

"Amelia? Rosemarie?" Grandma called out to both Mia and I, using our full names and we snapped our heads to look at her

"Why don't we cancel lessons today and just have some fun?" Grandma asked us but it sounded more demanding 

"I would, I really want to. It's just, I already made plans with Jeremiah. I can't break a promise, we haven't really spent time together." I told my grandmother with a sad smile and she smiled sadly back

"Fun? You're not too busy for something like that?" Mia asked our grandmother in shock as she widened her eyes a bit

"You're majesty, Lady Jerome just arrived and the French Consulate's assistant is on hold. He wants to confirm tonights dinner." Charlotte informed our grandmother as she walked into the greenhouse

"Send my apologies, cancel everything for tonight and tomorrow. Today, I am being shown half of San Francisco by Mia and tomorrow, Mary is going to show me the other half. After all, they are two San Franciscan girls. Tell Joseph I'll need the car." Grandma demanded Charlotte with a smile on her lips as she looked at the both of us

"Yes, ma'am." Charlotte told her with a wide smile, nodding her head repeatedly at her orders and she clutched the binder tightly into her chest

"Oh, wait. I want to show you my baby." Mia said to grandma who widened her eyes when she heard those words along with Charlotte

"The baby is very cute." I informed grandma with a big smile, wondering how she was going to react when she found out what exactly baby is
