Papa Zhao finally came back from his stroll when it was near lunchtime. When he put his umbrella beside the door, it was unexpectedly not covered with much snow. Zhao Yun Lan took a quick glimpse at it and immediately knew that his dad had definitely find a random chess room to kill time for the entire morning.

Coming face to face with Shen Wei, Papa Zhao merely hummed at him indifferently before heading to take a seat at the dining table while carrying a powerful aura.

Regarding Zhao Yun Lan bringing a male in-law home, for a pedantic and conservative person like Papa Zhao, it could be said that he seemed to have accepted it. However, there was no doubt that his heart was still ridden with discomfort. No matter how much he wanted to deny it, he really couldn't pick any fault from Shen Wei. Thus, the older man could only endure the situation awkwardly.

The said 'daughter-in-law' sat opposite him while eating the meal properly with his head hung low. Mama Zhao suddenly elbowed Papa Zhao who was wearing a somber expression. He then scrunched his nose up before forcing a dry remark from his mouth, "Shen laoshi, please eat more."

Shen Wei smiled at him. He then obediently picked up a piece of spareribs and placed it in his bowl, "Yes, I will."

The snow outside didn't show any sign of stopping soon. The more it snowed, the heavier it became, blanketing the surrounding with boundless expanse of white.

Zhao Yun Lan slipped to the balcony and closed the window tightly. While at it, he also moved the pots on top of the flower shelf into the house. These flowers and plants were especially precious. Due to the meticulous attention they received, they became even more delicate and fragile to the extent whereby the slightest hint of chill could cause them to wither right away.

He had only eaten half of his meal, yet his mom had ordered him to do these chores. Moreover, Mama Zhao also prohibited Shen Wei from helping him. Despite the endless flow of complaint gushing from Zhao Yun Lan's lips, he still stooped down to tend after the flowers attentively.

Shen Wei turned around to watch him from his seat at the dining room. The other man was bustling back and forth from the house to the balcony. Zhao Yun Lan wore a gray wool sweaters combined with a pair of black pants which hugged his two slender legs just nicely. The sleeves of his sweaters were rolled up to his elbows. When he brought in three flower pots inside at once, the muscles of his lower arm formed a beautiful contour. His back was facing the balcony, but he suddenly turned around. When he noticed Shen Wei's meaningful gaze, Zhao Yun Lan sent the professor a cheeky grin in return.

The faint smile painting the corners of Shen Wei's lips rose even higher, until that smile reached his eyes.

"I remember a huge snowstorm like this also happened when Yun Lan was still small. My impression at that time was very deep." Mama Zhao picked some vegetables with her chopsticks and placed it into Shen Wei's bowl. She then smiled towards Zhao Yun Lan, "I think he was only three or four years old back then. I only lost my focus for a moment, but this stinky kid had ran away to God-knows-where. It was freezing outside. His dad and I almost filed a report of missing person to the police, but fortunately, a good soul returned him back to us."

Shen Wei went completely still, as if Mama Zhao's story suddenly stirred up his memories, as if a draft of cold air and snowflakes suddenly enveloped him.

"Yun Lan," Mama Zhao asked, "Do you still remember?"

"I've long forgotten about it." Zhao Yun Lan finally finished arranging those flower pots properly. He took a wet tissue and wiped his hands clean while walking to the dining table, "Besides, how old was I back then? My memory is not that strong yet."

"You wore a small hat and... what clothes are you wearing again?"

Zhao Yun Lan waved his hand in an attempt to stop the conversation. If this topic continued to head towards this direction, his mom would definitely start to babble about the time where he was still wearing open pants.

"Fleece earmuffs, brown thick jacket with a toggle fastener on the top," Shen Wei blurted out while gesturing a round shape with his hands, "and a pair of rounded end leather boots."

The other three people were rendered speechless.

Zhao Yun Lan, who was pulling his chair out, halted abruptly as he stared at Shen Wei in disbelief.

Shen Wei didn't react fast enough. His eyes were blinking in confusion. He noticed Da Qing moving closer and leaped onto the chair beside him before mewling loudly, "Meow!"

"Professor Shen! What kind of bullshit are you talking about?!"

Shen Wei suddenly gripped the chopsticks in his hand tightly. Fine drops of sweat started to ooze down from his temple. It would soon slid down the sides of his face.

"How does Xiao Shen..."

"I told him." Zhao Yun Lan sat down beside Shen Wei. He placed his hand on Shen Wei's thigh below the table and kneaded it as a form of reassurance.

Mama Zhao eyed Zhao Yun Lan in further surprise, "Didn't you say that you've forgotten?"

"Aiya, I also have my moments of epiphany sometimes." Zhao Yun Lan beamed a roguish smile at Mama Zhao, "I only said it once, but he remembered it right away. Look at how much your daughter-in-law loves me."

Having said that, his eyes narrowed in a grin as a twinkle of craftiness flashed across his bright eyes. Zhao Yun Lan inclined his head towards Shen Wei's direction and asked, "Don't you think so, Shen laoshi?"

Shen Wei lowered his head. Those slim fingers holding the chopsticks tightened and loosened alternately. One could see with their naked eyes how the rosy flush directly creeped from Shen Wei's neck straight to his ears as his Adam's apple bobbed up and down several times. After a long while, he finally spoke up with a low voice, "Let's not talk nonsense anymore and continue eating."

Zhao Yun Lan shrugged his shoulders, not willing to comment any further. Only Da Qing, who was lying on top of the chair, managed to see Zhao Yuan Lan secretly grasping Shen Wei's hand and used his fingers to write something on the professor's palm, stroke by stroke.

Shen Wei's ears flushed even redder before he grabbed that mischievous finger. Those dark eyes, that were akin to deep pools, shot a glare at Zhao Yun Lan.

Zhao Yun Lan wrote: You punk.
