"Why the fuck were you kissing her?" Luke yelled and gave me a short, angry glance. His hair was messy and I knew it was because he probably had repeatingly been running his fingers through it in the car.
"Dude, I didn't know you were gonna show up!" Michael defended, but it was not a very good excuse. He tried to wiggle out of Luke's grasp, but Luke had him gripped tightly. Eventually, Michael just gave him one good shove and Luke stepped back.
"You know Hal is mine!" He screamed without attempting shove Michael back.
"Wait," I stepped in and all eyes fell on me. "When did I become somebody's possession? Luke, I am not yours! You said so not even three hours ago. You said we were over!!"
"Well," he hesitated and looked to the ground, "I didn't think first thing you'd do is go kiss Mikey!"
"At least I didn't go off and have sex with him and get him pregnant like you did with Talia after I left!" I shouted.
"Wait, what?" Michael mumbled. "I'm getting pregnant?"
"I did not get Talia pregnant!" Luke defended, stomping his foot on the ground in frustration.
Michael looked even more confused. "Wait, Hal," he turned to me. "I thought you said he did get Talia pregnant?"
I shook my head. I completely forgot to tell the boys about that quite important piece of info. "No, it's not his..." Luke nodded.
Michael dropped his jaw, "Well... congrats, dude!"
"Shut up, Mikey. You still haven't answered my question," Luke roared rolling his crystal blue eyes.
"Okay, okay. You want to know why I kissed Hal?" He asked calmly throwing his hands up in defeat.
"Yes!" Luke and I responded in harmony.
"...Because she's amazing!" He burst out. "She's the perfect definition of the perfect girl! And Luke, she's had you wrapped around her finger for so damn long... And then you think that after everything you two struggled through you can turn around and fuck it up again! I just thought she deserved a little better than that and I wanted to give it to her, okay?"
Luke and I both fell silent as a large smile grew across my face at Mikey's kind words.
"Michael," I grinned and he began to smile too from seeing my own, "That's so sweet."
"No!" Luke bellowed with anger, "No, Hal. He's not being sweet, he just wants to manipulate me!" He said stomping over closer to me.
"Oh, save it!" I spewed back with even more anger towards Luke. He was acting so ridiculous and child-like right now I couldn't even believe this was him. "You're just mad because-" But for the second time today I was cut off by someone's lips slamming into mine. This time, they were Luke's. Right in front of Michael, Luke was kissing me fast and passionately; stealing the breath right from my lips before I could even react.
"Luke!" I finally mumbled through the kiss, "Stop!" I pushed him off me. "What the hell?"
"Just remember that, Hal," he breathed. "That's what a real kiss is like. From someone who actually loves you."
I was so confused. First Luke is saying he's leaving me for good, and then next thing he's kissing me and telling me he loves me. This wasn't fair to me-- for him to keep playing games with my head like this.
"You know what?" Michael scoffed while walking over to the driver's seat of his car, "You are mental, Luke. I don't want to be any part of this. Hal, I'm sorry."
"Mikey, wait!" I called to him but he slammed the car door before I could get another word out and he revved up the engine. "Wait!" I yelled again as he backed out of his parking spot. I caught a quick glimpse of his face through the windshield before he sped off. He mouthed 'sorry' to me and was gone.
And I was left alone with Luke once again.
