The Broken (Book 1: Broken series)

The beginning

"Silo, tell me the truth, did you or did you not sleep with her?" he looks at me with a glare 

"It is none of you fucking business Kira" I felt anger rising in me 

"It is my business silo" I said a little to firmly 

"Why? Because we're mates?" he said it with a lot of venom and disgust 

"Yes" I said softly 

"well then I Silo Adam Mitchell soon to be alpha of the midnight light pack reject you Kira Rae Joseph as my mate" he looked at me for a second and in that second I saw the sadness and the pain in his eyes but it only lasted a second

He turns around walking away leaving me at the play ground alone, with an agonizing pain, I fell to the ground withering in pain, it was like no other pain I have ever felt before, it's much more painful than shifting for the first time, it's hard to explain the pain I'm in, I tried holding back the tears and my screams but it was too much for me to handle so I opened my eyes and looked towards the sky and screamed my lungs out, then I passed out. 

 My name is Kira Rae Joseph, I'm 18yrs old I am a werewolf, my mate just rejected me..., and this is my story. 

9 hours ago 

Beep beep....beeeeeeeeep 

My hand lifted up to smack my alarm clock, a groan escaped my lips  

Five more minutes I thought, I slowly drifted back to sleep  

BAM, BAM, BAM,  

"Kira get up" I jumped on my bed at the sound of my brothers irritated voice 

I groaned again I knew I had to get up now or his going to come again and it won't be very pretty, I slowly opened my eyes to see the sun shining through my window 

I stretched my arms in the air and letting out a yawn, I stood up walking towards my bathroom, after a few minutes of getting ready I walked out refreshed, I have a good feeling about today, I walked over to my desk grabbing my backpack, and something on my table caught my attention, it was my calendar, on today's date there was a circle with a pink marker ink with 18 on it,  

"Oh my gosh!" I yelled realizing why I feel so good, today is my 18th birthday and its a very special day for me 

When a female werewolf turns 16 they shift to their wolf form, that's when they are strong enough for the process of shifting, and on their 18th birthday they find their mate, your mate can be right there but you wont recognize him or her until your 18th birthday, its like your wolf is waiting for you to mature enough to be able to handle the bond  

A mate is short for soul mate, a soul mate is your other half, their like the piece of puzzle that completes your soul, its someone who accepts your flaws and all, and loves you with all their hearts, I cant really explain it well cause I haven't felt it yet just heard stories 

So today is the day I get to see who my mate is, it's like Easter egg hunting in the amazon jungle, if I'm lucky he will be in my pack if not then I'm screwed 

"Kira?" my mother's voice echoed from downstairs 

"I'll be down" I looked at myself in the mirror again to make sure I'm good before heading out the door  

I made my way down stairs, expecting a normal breakfast with mom and dad, but once I walked in the kitchen I saw everybody, my two older brothers and my parents and my sister in-law, they all yelled  

"Surprise!" I jumped back in fright holding on to my chest  

"Happy birthday" my mother came towards me with a pancake in a shape of a heart. I held my check for a minute before I calmed down, a smile broke out
