A common misconception is that pain and pleasure are polar opposites, two lines that never intersect, perfect parallels.

Pain elicits a negative type of imagery: be it physical or emotional, pleasure is the last thing that one associates with agonizing aches or torturous misery.

And how can the wonderful feeling of plaisir be defined? It is surely seen in a positive light, whether it derives from sex, food or just simply happy situations that appease our ventrotegmental area.
And then boom, dopamine rush.

One would conclude that the two aren't correlated in any way, that they are oxymorons, however, they couldn't be more wrong.
Parts of the neural pathways of both pain and pleasure overlap significantly, but if science isn't convincing enough, there is a more direct approach to be considered: experience.
Cause, believe me, pain feels good.
Pain is exhilarating, addictive.
Pain is pleasure.

I can't say that I hate school, sure I mind getting up early and having to be surrounded by hormonal, immature idiots— be it males or females, but it kind of gets easy once you grow accustomed to the routine

I firmly believe that in order to survive high school you have to tune out most of the voices, ignore whatever and whoever rubs you the wrong way and stay focused on getting the hell out of there. At least, that's what I've always done and I can say it works wonders.

But it's not always possible, especially when the one person you really want to ignore is your teacher.

Mrs. Lilia is one of those pissy, unsatisfied and insecure women that let out all of their frustrations onto their class, which leads to unpleasant situations like the one I was finding myself in.
