"I got you a key for my apartment like we talked about yesterday, just in case anything were to happen." I held out the silver key to my patient who had a raised eyebrow as soon as I had walked into her room. Y/N slowly reached out to take the key from my fingers before she twirled the key between her own, her head dropping to stare at the metal at the same time. "Are you ready to go?" I asked after a couple minutes of silence. Y/N nodded her head without looking up from the key and I just wanted to know what she found so interesting about the piece of metal to hold her attention for such a long period of time. At least it would be good heading towards the car so that Y/N wouldn't have to look at anyone on the way. I grabbed her elbow to lead her down the elevator and towards my car, away from the facility.
Finally, Y/N placed the key in her sweats pocket once we were both situated in the car. I couldn't help but admire the sight of the taller girl today and how amazing she looked in such a simple outfit. I was always a sucker for her when she wore her sweats especially low on her hips. I shook my head to myself and continued the drive towards the mall where we would be shopping for a while today. Eventually, the two of us had reached the mall after a comfortably silent drive where we had gotten out to immerse ourselves in the midst of the chaos that came with mall shopping. I wanted so badly to hold Y/N's hand, but I didn't know if that would be okay for me to do so. I didn't want to pressure the younger girl and I certainly didn't want to fuck up our chances if being together by getting us caught.
"Where would you like to go first?" I asked Y/N as we finally made it into the mall. I couldn't help but notice that she looked completely starstruck by the scene, still not used to being out in public after being locked away in a room all her life. When I was able to gain her attention, Y/N looked down at me and shrugged her shoulders. I arched my eyebrow upwards since she was the one that wanted to come shopping in the first place. Surely she had to know what she wanted or even what kind of style she possessed. I looked over her tall frame and scrutinized the way she wore her clothes, and how it told me a lot about how she dressed. Dinah would be perfect for dressing Y/N, and now that the Polynesian popped up into my head, I realized how much I actually missed her. "Well we can just look around and I'll help you. Okay?" I asked after another moment of silence between us.
Y/N nodded her head with her lips pulled into a straight line. I noticed her sudden change in mood. "Is something wrong?" I stopped us before we could start moving again to address the sudden problem that occurred in the younger girl. Y/N shook her head but I could see right through her, so I gave her a pointed look that basically screamed for her to just tell me because we weren't going anywhere unless she did. The Y/H/C haired girl stared at me for several seconds before she gave in with a roll of her eyes. I smirked in victory, knowing that I won and now that I only had to try to help eradicate this problem that seemed to arise out of nowhere. Y/N sighed and slouched her shoulders lower than they were, moving her gaze to avoid my eyes. She seemed to be looking over my shoulder so that she could hide the fact that she was avoiding my gaze even better.
"I just hate people in all honesty." She sighed out again. I remained quiet, wanting to let her get her thoughts out without any interruption. "They can just be so cruel for no reason and I know I'm not exactly in the best headspace to be dealing with them. I just wanted more clothes because I don't seem to have any left, like they keep disappearing on me or something. This is pretty much the only outfit I have left and I have no way of obtaining anything else without help. I really hate to ask you for this but I don't want to be wearing the same thing for the rest of my life. I'm tired of looking and feeling like a prisoner in that mental hospital. I know I'm crazy, but I don't want to look like I am to other people." Y/N rubbed the back of her neck in shame.
"You shouldn't have to feel sorry for wanting or asking for help, Y/N. I have no problem helping you out, ever. I understand where you come from and I just want to make you feel as comfortable as possible. You're not going to be stuck there the rest of your life. You will get past this." I placed my hand on her shoulder to try to get her attention on me, in which I succeeded in once her Y/E/C orbs peered into mine. "I will help you as much as you need whether you ask for it or not. We will get you better in no time, but for now, let's get you some more clothes. I don't know why they're disappearing or what, but I promise to find out what's going on there as well. We have some major shopping to do." I smiled widely, causing Y/N's lips to twitch up almost mirroring the action. This would be fun.
