Aizawa Shouta observed as his class sparred with one another within the gym, ensuring they stuck to the rules and didn't use their Quirks, all the while pointedly ignoring a tiny voice in his head that reminded him of the time a certain Problem Child had teased him about his adamancy on them training without their Quirks. He tried not to groan outwardly as his thoughts seemed to summon the kid, merely fixing Midoriya with a disinterested glare.

"Any reason why you've stopped?" He inquired, only to glance over and see Kaminari face-down on the mat, refusing to move.

The boy hummed in confirmation as his teacher looked back at him, frustrated that he'd wiped out his classmate so quickly. He crossed his arms and sank a little deeper into the capture gear draped over his shoulders like a scarf, letting out a world-weary sigh and hoping the kid understood how much of an exhausting menace he was.

"Kaminari, take five," he called irritatedly, watching as the blond student sprang right back up and sprinted over to his water bottle to chug from it like he was dying. "Midoriya, do whatever, but don't get yourself killed somehow, and don't bother me unless there are villains attacking."

"Right, sensei."

If only it were that simple. There were a few blessed moments of silence, but as a minute drew to a close Shouta could see the kid's face suddenly twist, his eyebrows furrowing and his teeth baring in what might've been disgust or horror. He stubbornly stayed silent, keeping his gaze firmly locked upon the rest of the class, even though he'd unintentionally stopped paying attention once the Problem Child had trotted up to him.

"Sensei-"

"Are you dying?" Shouta cut him off immediately, his tone somehow sharp and blunt at the same time because he'd mastered the art of juxtaposing speech.

"No, but-"

"Is someone else dying?" He asked again, shifting his feet and slouching back against the wall.

"No, but-"

The man briefly glared sideways, down at the annoying kid. "Then don't bother me."

Izuku snapped his jaws shut with an equally venomous look, actually pouting like a toddler who didn't get his way. And no, oh no, Shouta was not going to fall for those puppy eyes, because he knew the evil that lurked behind that deceptively innocent gaze. He wasn't as weak as All Might when it came to the stupid kid, because he could actually control his emotions in the face of crocodile tears, and he felt absolutely no desire whatsoever to give in to the child's need for attention.
