Dan had wrestled himself into a dark blue v-neck and and skinny jeans as he slowly paces back in forth in his room. This 'date' was even more nerve racking than expected.

He and Phil had exchanged numbers later in the week and now he was texting him to hurry up, the sun was starting to go down and he didn't want it to get to dark. Just when he presses send, his doorbell rings.

"Oh my god." He whispers as he checks himself in the mirror and frantically straightens out his imaginary wrinkles.

When he was taking the steps down, he hears his mother's cheerful voice and Dan curses under his breath as he almost trips down the last step.

"Oh here he is! Dan your friend Phil is here." She says happily.

Red was in Dan's cheeks as he hurries over to the door to Phil. He was wearing a black long sleeve shirt that was tight and showed him slim figure nicely. He pushes his glasses up and looks Dan up and down before grinning.

"You look nice." He waves to Caroline, "it was nice meeting you, I like your hair by the way."

"Oh!" She says, tucking an golden lock that fell from her bun behind her ear, "why, thank you Phil."

When the door closes. The boys start their journey on foot to the park. It was actually pretty nice out at night, it wasn't as cold as the last nights have been.
Phil had begun humming in the comfortable silence and Dan looks over at his side profile. It was amazing that someone as good looking as him could exist.

"You're not planning to kiss me again are you?" Phil chuckles, looking down at Dan.

Dan snaps his eyes back to the road. "No! And it wasn't a kiss, it was a brush on the lips."

Phil waves him off. "Yea whatever, I know I know I'm irresistible."

Dan was about to argue back but his breath caught in his throat as he saw the sight of the beautiful park. The petals from the tress had fallen from the sidewalk in bright arrays of pinks and purples that had great contrast with the now orange and pink sunset.

"Wow. Talk about scenery" Dan whispers.
"I told you, it's beautiful." Phil grins, "let's go in."

They pick a bench by a pretty cherry blossom tree. It was a little awkward now since they both didn't have anything to talk about and Dan's confidence wasn't as high as it should be.

Phil yawns, stretches, and puts his arm around the back of the bench, right around Dan's shoulders.

somewhere in the bushes, a camera clicks

"So what do you do in your free time Dan?" Phil asks casually.

Dan tries to control his breathing. He and Phil had been more closer than this many times, so why was he freaking out?

"I play video games, you know, regular stuff."

"Anything else?"

Dan couldn't keep eye contact with him. He keeps his eyes on the petal filled sidewalk as he talks.

"Well, I used to play the piano, but I haven't done it in a while, I was pretty good but I just got busy you know?"

When Phil didn't answer, Dan looks up to see him staring at him intensely.

"Why are you staring at me?"

Phil just smiles and leans closer.

a camera clicks several times

Dan's heart starts racing again but he didn't dare move forward, he just slowly closes his eyes.

And then he feels Phil's thumb, scrubbing fiercely at his cheek.
"You got toothpaste right here did you know that?"

Dan opens his eyes in shock as he sees Phil smiling at him cheekily, his eyes shining in amusement.

more clicks

"You brushed your teeth? You were planning to kiss me!"

Dan pushes his hand away and backs as far as the bench could allow. "I hate you!"

Phil laughs. "No you don't, you're so fun to play with Dan."
"Well I hate it, it's not funny." Dan grumbles.

Phil pats his hand. "We should be getting home anyway, you're welcome to stay at my house if you want."

"No." Dan says getting up. "you might lead me on again."

Phil just continues laughing as he throws his arm around his shoulders and walks away with him.

a few more clicks and then no more as the person gets up and leaves too
