It was funny watching Austin curiously wrap tinsel around the tree in his apartment. After work, he'd convinced me to immediately go get decorations for his apartment, to which I obliged. Despite my earlier hesitancy, I realized that Austin was good at taking my mind off things. And that was exactly what I needed.

I was laid on the couch with a steaming mug of hot chocolate as he attempted to decorate on my behalf.

"Lainey, how the hell does this shit work?" he groans, turning to look at my with tinsel placed in his hands messily.

I shake my head and gently blow into the hot beverage to cool it off for better consumption. "You're a big boy, Austin. I think you are more than capable of wrapping a decoration around your tree."

He sticks his bottom lip out in a pout, making me laugh gently.

I place my mug on a coaster and situate myself more comfortably on the couch. With my legs now crossed, I lean forward and rest my head in my hands.

"How does this stay around a tree? I'm so completely confused." Austin mumbles to himself while eyeing the decoration curiously.

I would help, in fact I would love to. But watching Austin in frustration was such a fun thing to partake in. I suppose that depends on the cause of his frustration of course.

He seems to give up as the tinsel falls to the ground with the ornaments we'd just purchased earlier today. Austin makes his way over to the couch and throws himself beside me with his arms crossed over his chest.

"This isn't fair, I hope you know," he grunts.

I laugh gently as I carefully turn my head to face him. "A lot of things aren't fair. But someone had to figure out how to wrap tinsel around a tree so I'm sure the great and powerful Austin Wood could do the same."

A smug look crosses his face, and I'm immediately regretting all choices leading to this moment. I'm being overdramatic. It's the sugar, I swear.

"You think I'm great?" Austin's eyebrows raise suggestively and I can't help but roll my eyes.

"You sound like a needy freshman who fishes for compliments to boost their ego," I laugh gently.

He sticks his tongue out at me before reaching on the coffee table and grabbing my mug. It was notable that there was in fact only one residing on the table, and he was beyond aware that it was mine. What a prick.

"I was drinking that you know," I mumble as he sets the mug down gently after taking a long sip.

"I know. But I wasn't going to be a complete ass and just spit in it. But it needed to be tainted."

I huff gently. I honestly couldn't care less that the man drank my hot chocolate. And that doesn't happen with just anyone. Even Thea wasn't allowed to drink after me but that's because she doesn't leave anything left.

"I want to cuddle," Austin says bluntly after a few seconds of silence.

I cock an eyebrow as I curiously stare at him. It wasn't that cold out, and the power was in fact running, so his need to cuddle is nothing more than personal.

"What if I don't want to?" I ask.

He shrugs his shoulders and moves his arms behind his head. "Maybe I don't want to cuddle you. There are many pillows out here I'm sure they would just enjoy the pure satisfaction of cuddling such a wonderful man like myself."

I snort, grabbing one of said pillows and swatting him in the abdomen. He immediately grips onto the pillow and I can't help smile smugly, "I think the pillow rejects the offer."
