After school I went with Soo Hyun to the mall where we agreed to hang out. We went around and bought a few things, ate some food, and then decided to head to my house. The whole bus ride was full of giggles and stuff. Geez I sound a bit like a girl saying things like that. Anyway, it was about 6:00 when we walked through the door. I walked and saw Jaebum on the couch.
Me: Hey Jaebum.
I greeted simply. He looked up and saw me, he brought his hand up to wave until he noticed Soo Hyun behind me.
JB: Who's that?
Me: Bro, this is Soo Hyun. Soo Hyun, this is my brother Jaebum. Anyway, we've got some homework so we'll be in my room.
He nodded and I walked to my room, Soo Hyun following after me.
Soo Hyun: You have a nice place. Do your parents have good jobs?
Me: Jaebum bought it actually. He owns a really popular ramen shop that he runs with his friends. We live with him.
She nodded understandingly and sat down on the bed. I brought out my books and we went to work. After we finished our assignments we just hung out some more.
Me: One time when we were younger, Jaebum took (Y/n) and I to the park to play and he ended up falling asleep. It was summer. When he woke up he was all sunburnt. It was so funny.
I told her some stories of us. At about 7:30 Jaebum walked in and looked at me seriously.
JB: (Y/n) isn't home yet. Is she with Wonho?
My eyes widened.
Me: What? She's not home yet? She didn't go with Wonho cause the group wanted to catch up with him.
JB: Well do you know where she is?
I shook my head no.
JB: Well her phone is turned off and I can't reach her.
Soo Hyun: I'm sure she'll be home soon. No need to worry.
After hearing that it hit me. I stood up and hurriedly grabbed my coat.
Me: Soo Hyun, you should go home now. I'll see you tomorrow.
I went out of my room and went to (Y/n)'s, grabbing her coat and stuffing it into my spare backpack before rushing out the door. How could I forget? God I'm such an awful brother. I went to Soo Jung's grave and saw (Y/n) sleeping there.
Me: Jesus, she must be freezing
I said as I hurriedly pulled her coat out of my bag before waking her up. I shook her lightly. Her skin was cold to the touch.
Me: (Y/n)? (Y/n)! Wake up!
Her eyes shot open as she woke from her sleep.
(Y/n): Changkyun?
Me: Come on, let's get this coat on you. You're freezing!
I helped her up and put her coat on her. She was struggling to stand.
Me: What were you thinking, falling asleep outside like this! God.... Are you okay?
I sighed when she didn't answer. I went into a squatting position.
Me: Hop on. I'll carry you. You need to preserve your energy if you're like this.
She got on my back and I stood up. I never noticed how light she is. I feel like the worst brother in the world right now. I started to walk towards the bus stop. Luck was on my side as the bus came not even a minute later. I got on and paid for the both of us. I gently set her on a seat and sat next to her. It was a quiet bus ride. When we got to our stop I helped her get up and started carrying her again. Out of the blue, she spoke.
(Y/n): You jerk. Soo Jung was sad you didn't come with me.
Her voice was small and quiet, barely above a whisper. She must still be tired. I called Jaebum.
Me: Bro, get a bath ready. I've got (Y/n). I'll explain when we get there. We're almost there.
I hung up and walked a little faster. (Y/n)'s head was buried in my shoulder. When I got to the apartment I opened the door and Jaebum rushed to us.
JB: Gosh she's so pale. Hurry, get her in the bath. She must be freezing.
I nodded and did as he said. When I made sure she was in the bath I went to talk to him.
JB: Where was she?
Me: Asleep at Soo Jung's tree.
JB: You didn't go with her?
Me: I didn't. I made her go by herself because I was being selfish. I feel awful. How could I forget that she told me she wanted to go there?
Jaebum shook his head. I could tell he wasn't happy with me.
JB: It was because of that girl, wasn't it? The one you brought home. I'm disappointed. You better fix what you started.
