You Belong with Me

Part One - Chapter Twenty-Seven: Happy Birthday

Alexa rolled her eyes as Daniella grinned at her, since the boys were at training the red head had insisted that the two go out for lunch for Alexa's twentieth birthday.

The friends ignored people watching them as they sat in a restaurant; Daniella wrapped an arm around her best friend as they were lead to their table knowing that they were still getting used to having so much attention on them.

"So what did Cristiano get you?" Daniella asked as they were seated, Alexa smiled at her best friend and shook her head as the waitress left; she was happy to be out of the house so that they could enjoy her birthday.

"Don't tell me Mr. Perfect forgot his own girlfriend's birthday," Daniella said making Alexa sigh, Cristiano had been gone before she had gotten up that morning; leaving a note that said he would be taking her out to dinner later.

Alexa wasn't sure if she was disappointed especially since she knew how hard he was working; she just wished he'd woken her up to say goodbye.

"I haven't seen him today..." Alexa said making Daniella nod, she knew that Cristiano had been struggling to decide on a gift for the blonde; he had asked her for help but Daniella had been far from helping.

Daniella was a little put off by how Alexa's relationship was moving with Cristiano, she was happy for her friend but it put pressure on her own relationship with Karim.

Daniella smiled at her as she looked through the menu, Alexa raised an eyebrow at her wondering what Daniella knew that she didn't.

"So what do you fancy for lunch... my treat," the red head asked as Alexa watched her; wondering what Daniella knew, however she didn't comment.

Cristiano sighed as he stretched as he stood with Pepe and Kaka, he was trying to think about something else other than the fact he had yet to see Alexa; it was her birthday and he had yet to wish her well.

"What did you get Lexi for her birthday?" Pepe asked as he looked at his friend, he had seen how in love Cristiano was with Alexa and couldn't help but steal his nickname for her.

Cristiano glared at him making his fellow Portuguese chuckle, Kaka looked at his friends as they started to jog; they were all happy for them and the past few weeks had been a welcome change for the club.

"You still don't know what to get her?" the Brazilian asked as they jogged Cristiano nodded, as Marcelo joined them; he looked at Cristiano knowing what they would say to him.

His friends easily keeping pace with him as they jogged around the pitch; Cristiano looked at them as he shook his head.

"I want to do something special," Cristiano said making them nod, he slowed his jog slightly as they jogged passed their coach who watched them intently as he spoke with the assistant coach.

"So what are you doing?" Marcelo asked curiously, Alexa had attended several of the home games since Cristiano had signed for Real Madrid but had yet introduced to any of the footballers by her boyfriend apart from Karim.

"I'm taking her to dinner tonight at el telegrafo restaurante," Cristiano said making them stare at him; he chuckled as he jogged a head of them, it was an expensive restaurant and difficult to get a reservation at.

"You must really like her..." Marcelo said from what he had heard about Cristiano; he had never been in a serious relationship but he seemed to generally care about Alexa.

Cristiano kissed Alexa when he arrived home from training, she smiled at him as he drew her close; he had missed her all day.
