v. hyacinth

Loved dearly by the Phoebus Apollo, he was a youth of the finest beauty,

And yet his story ends in bittersweet tragedy.

Struck by the discus directed by the winds of the jealous Zephyrus,

His radiant colors leave his dying frame as Apollo weeps in agony.

Placing one last kiss upon lips sweeter than nectar, Apollo waves a hand over his dead lover’s body,

And replaces it with a bed of the most beautiful flowers in history,

Honoring eternally his beloved's memory.
