Mystic Falls high school was completely dark. If you were on the outside, you'd incorrectly assume that it was empty. As Matt had done.

However, he discovered his mistake when he stepped into one of the classrooms and set off a bunch of mouse traps. When he turned on the light, scared about what he might find, he saw Tyler, Caroline, Riley, Elena and Bonnie setting traps.

"Oh come on! Seriously?!" Caroline squealed. "Do you know how long it took for us to set all this up?!"

"Forgot about senior prank night, huh?" Tyler asked his best friend with a grin.

"Clearly," Matt said, still bewildered.

Caroline rolled her eyes, glancing with disdain at the traps. "We've been waiting for this since freshman year!"

"Yeah Matt, if I'm doing this, you're doing this," Elena said, smiling.

"I'm kind of surprised that any of you are doing this," Matt admitted, looking around at each of them.

"Hey, we're only seniors once," Riley reminded him, ignoring the fact that she had also been hesitant to partake in the tradition.

"And on that note, I've got 10 more classrooms to prank," Tyler said, really getting into the spirit of his new girlfriend's tasks.

"And I'm gonna go superglue Alaric's desk shut," Elena grinned. "Making memories."

"I love you!" Caroline shouted with a smile at her retreating back. Matt shook his head at them with a smile and left the room, going back to the gym, which was the reason that he was in the school in the first place.

"So, am I allowed to bring up the whole 'Katherine killing your grandma' thing? Or is it too soon?" Caroline asked Riley abruptly.

"Caroline!" Bonnie scolded her.

"It's OK," Riley assured her, turning to Caroline. "You can bring it up, but I don't want to talk about it because I have nothing to say. I didn't even know the woman."

"She was your family," Caroline pressed softly.

"Family don't fake their deaths and abandon you for decades. Why do you think Katherine doesn't have one?"

The other two girls remained silent, setting traps in a repetitive fashion.

"I'm gonna go and see if Tyler needs any help," Caroline excused herself, leaving just Bonnie and Riley in the classroom.

"She's just trying to help," Bonnie said. "She thinks you should be mourning."

Riley rolled her eyes. "I'm not mourning. Gloria doesn't mean anything to me."

Bonnie raised an eyebrow. "We both know that's not true."

Riley sighed. She didn't want to admit that Gloria's death had affected her because it shouldn't have. She'd never met her, the woman was more like a figment of her imagination. And yet, she couldn't stop herself from thinking about it.

"If I knew she was alive... maybe we could have talked, you know? She was a witch. She could tell me what her life was like, and maybe she'd know why I'm not..."

"A witch?" Bonnie finished for her. "Trust me Riley, being a witch is no picnic."

"It would be better than being a human in this world. Stefan's bitten me twice, I'm vulnerable."

"Stefan bit you twice and you're still here. Because it doesn't matter if you're a witch or a human Riley, we look out for each other. And when this is all over, you can go home and live a normal life."
