the sunlight filled the house, the birds chirps echoed throughout the rooms. the calmness of the environment isn't helping jihyo at all.her head was practically throbbing. she swears on never drinking with her friends again. how could she be so careless and drunk on a work day, knowing that she still has a job to go to the next day. she grumpily got up the bed, leaning on the wall for support.
with no memory of what happened last night, she just settled on worrying about it later, after the headache dies down.
as she continued on rubbing her forehead to soothe the pain, she walked (more like limped) to the kitchen, with the plan of making soup.
well, that was the initial plan. but some noise made jihyo snap her head towards the kitchen. someone's inside her house!
panicking, she grabbed the thing nearest to her, not caring at the thought of a frying pan placed right outside the kitchen. it was like the headache was temporarily gone, and a sudden rush of adrenaline made jihyo able to stand properly.
she doesn't get a clear view of who was inside her house until she sneaks inside the kitchen, finally realizing that it was a man.
the 'intruder' made his way outside the kitchen (thank heavens the kitchen has another exit), which was the perfect time for jihyo to sneak in further.
she noticed him stop at a certain table, the ones where photos of her, her friends, and even the one with— oh no. that shouldn't be seen by anyone.
jihyo ran as fast as she could, even if she was panicking and didn't know what to do. the intruder then turned around, but jihyo wasn't able to stop herself from charging towards him.
"hiya!" jihyo launched herself to him, what was the use of the frying pan then? the stranger was knocked over... well, he's not really a stranger anymore.
jihyo watched with wide eyes as he groaned in pain. "o-oh, yoongi— i mean- sir, oh god- i-" she was now a stuttering mess, trying to push herself up. but he wasn't having any of it. he firmly gripped her arms, preventing jihyo to move away, before harshly tugging her back to where she was before.
their faces were only a few inches away, and it just made jihyo more flustered when she saw that smirk that was shown in his face.
"let's stay like this for a moment." yoongi ordered, and jihyo couldn't do anything but look away, too embarrassed to face him again.
jihyo, in hopes of him not hearing her ridiculously fast heartbeat, just shut her eyes tight, hoping that he'll finally let go of her.
"h-hey, weren't you supposed to look after your cooking?" jihyo tried to sound convincing, tapping his shoulders as a sign to let her go.
he did comply, only because he didn't want the soup to get burnt. she hurriedly stood up, before going infront of the table, preventing him from looking at any more photos.
she just dismissed him with a giggle, before pushing the boy towards the kitchen again. once out of sight, jihyo just let out a huge sigh. "that was close." she huffed, before glancing at the photo he nearly saw. "it's better this way." jihyo continued, before putting the frame inside the drawer.
catching the faint smell of the soup, she walked towards the kitchen. jihyo had just remembered her headache now, how did it vanish earlier? and now that it's back, she could only limp weakly towards the stool. jihyo banged her head on the table as she groaned in pain.
"heads up!" yoongi cheered, gaining jihyo's attention. the bowl was then placed on the table she was sitting in. "it's best when it's hot." he added, which made jihyo sit up straight.
the girl just stared at the soup, totally awestruck at how appetizing it looked. this doesn't look like a hangover soup, it's more of the ones sold in those five-star restaurants.
"woah..." jihyo gasped, before diving right in, wanting to relieve the pain. yoongi just watched her devour his cooking, satisfied that jihyo's eating well.
"oh, i'm sorry if i raided your refrigerator." yoongi apologized, and jihyo just stopped slurping for a moment, blinking at him before continuing on eating.
"aaaand..." he started. "sorry for not changing your... clothes" at this point jihyo nearly choked. "i know it was uncomfortable, but i can't just do that without your permission." he explained.
come to think of it, jihyo didn't even realize she was still in her uniform. "uhm— it's fine. that's... actually very thoughtful of you." she lightly smiled, before coughing for a bit, embarassed at their current situation.
"how are you feeling?" yoongi tried to start another conversation again. "i'm okay... except for the headache, i think i'm alright." she giggled, and he knew it was the most pleasing sound he ever heard.
"wait... have you eaten?" jihyo noticed that he wasn't eating, nor does he have a bowl infront of him. before she could hear his protest, jihyo had grabbed another bowl, filling it with the scrumptious soup.
jihyo placed the bowl on the table."we're not going to leave until you eat." she stated, crossing her arms as she went back to her seat.
yoongi just arched an eyebrow, "we?" he asked, earning a flustered look from jihyo. "w-we have work, remember?" she returned the question, in which he could only smirk.
"yeah? who told you you're going to work today, missy? you are to stay here to get enough rest." he ordered, and it was now his turn to cross his arms.
this made jihyo scoff, "and who are you to decide on that?" totally forgetting that he was the ceo of the company. "and who are you to talk to your boss like that?" yoongi retorted , making jihyo cover her mouth, cursing under her breath.
"god- uh- i'm so sorry." just like that, jihyo was reduced to a stuttering mess. he just chuckled, before finally giving in, and proceeded to blow the soup to make sure it wasn't too hot.
the rest of the breakfast went by very quietly, neither of them wanted to break the silence. jihyo was forced to sit down at the couch after being ordered by her one and only ceo. "i'm doing the dishes, go sit on the couch or something." she mimicked his words earlier as she slumped on the sofa.
underneath her was a blanket, and the table infront contained their stuff. jihyo just assumed he slept on the couch and a wave of guilt hit her as she realized how uncomfortable he must've been.
her eyebrows knit together as she worried about such thing. it filled her head and made her unable to notice him approaching.
he nudged jihyo lightly, who in return just shook her head. "hey, you okay?" he asked, voice filled with concern. "y-yeah, i just want to apologize. it must've been a pain on handling me yesterday. i have no idea how on earth you were able to take me home, took care of me, had to take the couch, and even cook hangover soup..." she looked at him with teary eyes.
"you're childish."
jihyo's eyes shot up instantly, surprised at the sudden comment he gave about her. "excuse me?" she asked, slightly offended at him.
"stop crying over simple things. it's not like you did something wrong." he simply shrugged, fixing his clothes before standing up.
"you're supposed to lecture me as a boss, not comfort me by telling that it's alright." jihyo also stood up, her hands on the table.
yoongi clicked his tongue, "fine. as a boss, i order you to rest today." he added a wink, catching jihyo off guard. "then, i'll be taking my leave." he went straight toward the door with a small salute, ignoring the look on jihyo's face who wanted to decline his offer.
obviously, it wasn't happening.
