"And why should I help you?"

She pounds her fists against the punching bag, working up a sweat, and blatantly ignoring the pleading boy who stood beside her with a hesitant stare.

"B-because... I uh- you owe me?" Peter splutters, his eyes following her every angry movement.

Rowan scoffs, picking up her pace, "I'm the one who saved your sorry ass from turning into a human pile of spider webs. If anything, you owe me."

"Rowan, please." He begs, trying to get her attention away from the exercise equipment, "this is a really... I mean, really big deal. The whole school thinks I'm best friends with... myself."

"What does any of this have to do with me?" The brunette finally turns towards him, her eyes narrowed, as she uses a towel to wipe away the dripping perspiration from her forehead.

"You can distract them, you know. How cool would it be if Imperium showed up as my date? Not only would it impress the whole school, but make Liz jealous all in the making." Peter adds with a smile.

She could feel her face twitch at the mention of that silly girl Peter's boy crushing over. It not only hurt her feelings immensely, but made her want to tear that girl's face off without a second glance. Even though she so badly wanted to skip that party, lounge in bed all day watching Lucifer on Netflix, she couldn't let Peter know how much of an affect he had on her. She was too egotistical for that. So, with reluctance, she agrees, "only because I love to party and get drunk. Not because I'm your friend, got it?"

His heart sank. "Got it. Thank you -"

"Shut up. I don't want to hear it. Just... be here by nine." The girl interveners harshly before walking away, once again leaving Peter speechless.

"Okay, dude, remember... she doesn't like to be touched or showered with tons of questions. She gets weird about that." The brunette boy starts, breathing out nervously as Aunt May pulls up in front of the newly moved Stark Towers. "I'm going to go and get her... please don't say or do anything embarrassing... please."

"You have my word."

Nodding gratefully, Peter gingerly gets out of his Aunt's old junker, greeting the guards that stood out front before waiting patiently for the girl. "Hey, I'm Peter... Parker." The awkward boy tries to strike up a conversation with one bulky man, "Mr. Stark's intern. Yeah. That's me. I uh- I'm waiting for his daughter... we're going to a party."
Silence.
He clears his throat, "she doesn't really like me at the moment, so uh- it's great that she decided to-"
But, he couldn't finish his sentence. Not because the guards had told him to shut his mouth, but because the words seemed to lodge itself in the back of his throat; choking him. His mouth fell agape, a feeling of absolute astonishment restricting him from being able to think straight, almost as if his mind had gone to mush. Rowan pushes through the glass doors, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips at his reaction. There she was, as beautiful as ever, with her hair curled back behind her ears to reveal her naturally high cheekbones and prominent jawline; her usual bare face now coated in a natural amount of makeup, the glimmering eyeshadow adding a pop to her doe eyes. She wore a fitted mini skirt, one that showed off her sleek, slender legs flatteringly, paired with a long sleeve body suit that hugged her curves in the most attractive way. Peter could hardly contain himself, an overwhelming attraction eating away at his insides.

"Well? Are you just gonna stand there and look handsome or are we going to the party?" Rowan's sassy tone snaps him from his drooling daze.

"Oh- yeah, yeah. Wow, Row, you look great." He compliments, his dark browns raking her petite stature.
