Chapter 37: Phone Calls

Adam was living in a large apartment conplex

I stood on the outside debating whether I should enter or not

Then I think of Leah, and her smiling face, and my decision is final

Apartment door 238, that's what he told me, so I guess he has to be on the second floor

I climb the stairs since I don't trust elevators, but hey, at least I get like a 30 second workout

I finally reached and I take a deep breathe as i knock on the door

I was really doing this

"Renae.....finally, come inside" He said looking me up from head to toe

His place was wide, spacious and basic

That was just his style

"I didn't expect you to give up to this deal this fast, what? You realized I'm better than that man will ever?"

I scoffed "No....I just was done with these threats I get from you"

He came very close to me and began caressing my face, he loved doing that

"I love you so much Renae I hope you know that..."

I only smiled and looked down, he didn't love me, he was just crazy

"You love me too right?" He asked, hand wrapped lightly around my neck

I didn't answer

"Right?" His voice got louder, and his grip got slightly tighter

But...I still wouldn't budge, he was always getting his damn way

"Answer me b*tch!" He yelled and at this point he was literally blocking my airway

"Okay....okay" I desperately let out

He loosened his grip, and calmed a bit

"I love you Adam" I said, lying to myself

He smiled then kissed me, I of course didn't kiss his filthy lips back

"Don't worry Renae, you'll get used to me, and it'll be just like old days"

I just nodded, All I wanted was to be alone right now

"Do you want to sleep with me or alone"

"Alone" I answered too quickly "When we get to know each other better, we can start sleeping together again"

He smiled at that

He led me too a room that had one bed and a drawer

"Goodnight, baby"

"Goodnight Adam"

I sat in the bed, the way he said baby, reminded me of Liam

I covered my hands with my face, laying on the bed

All I wanted to do was keep Liam and Leah safe

My phone started to vibrate "mother " popped on the screen

I didn't even want to pick up

"Hello"

"Yes, Hi honey, I just wanted to know if you would mind sharing a room with Liam or not"

I looked at the floor

"M-mom, I don't think we're coming anymore"

She laughed, then her voice turned ugly "what do you mean you don't think, do you think or do you know"
