My Story Is Simple

People come and go.
City lights still attract.
Slang on everyone's tongue,
and one thing on their minds.

-But I stopped.

Faces are painted like clowns.
Tryers are never successors.
Cheats and lies.
Stains that never fade.

-but I looked up.

Laughs are hushed.
Love is a new pain.
The lord is no longer a rock
And people watch with doubt.

-but I watched with wander.

Boredom comes easily.
Technology is what makes us.
We care not about others
And think nothing more than what's next.

-but I stood quietly.

Rush to gain more time.
Lives drained.
Peace never an option
And rare happiness that is pure.

-but I let the wind rush by.

We throw what we don't want  away.
Fake flowers are now desired.
Life's a joke
And mother nature's torment.

-and I thought, at least we can't touch the clouds.
