UNEXPECTED FEAST

Selene sat alone in the library as she tried to ignore the feeling of loneliness that had once again started creeping it's way back inside of her.

Her poor Apollo had been so busy lately, she could feel his tention and his anger and it saddened her greatly. She had tried to comfort him, and if always seemed to work but after they would make love he would be back to being glum.

The quietness of the library was broken when the goddess Aphrodite entered. Selene tried to hide her irritation as she looked up from her book.

"Yes?"
She asked her.

"I came to tell you that Zeus has decided to organise a... last minute feast."
Aphrodite said with a smile.

"And you're telling me this because...?"

"Because you're invited, ofcourse! I'll see you later in the grand ballroom."
Aphrodite said laughing and as quick as she came she went away.

Sighing Selene lay down her book and got up. All the way towards Apollo's palace she couldn't help but feel dreadful. The whol situation didn't sit her well, but at the other side she couldn't help but be excited. A feast is how she and Apollo fell in love and she was sure that as they would dance, he would once again let his heart be filled with the love that she holds for him.

Once in her room she decided to take a bath. One of the nymphs that resided in Apollo's domain quickly came to help.
Selene relaxed inside the warm water as the nymph washed her hair.

"Are you going to the feast, Selene?"
She Nymph Manilla asked.

"You must be excited. I would certainly be if I got to dance all night with a god like Apollo."
She said with a laugh.

"Yes, I sure am."

"You love him a lot, don't you?"
The nymph said with a soft smile.

"I do. More than anyone in this world. My life used to be so dull and empty. I was breathing but not living. And then... I met him and from the moment I saw him I knew that he was destined to be with me. He is my fated, my one and only. Live without him wouldn't be worth living."
She said, speaking nothing but the utter truth.

"He is lucky to have you."
The nymph said as she stared at the goddess, blinded by love.

After she finished with her bath, she put on one of her most beautiful white gowns. It was simplistic, but beautiful. The rims of the dress were covered in crystals and gold and matched her sandals.
As she looked into the mirror, she felt beautiful and hoped that Apollo would think the same of her.

Meanwhile Apollo stood on a small platform as nymphs were busy with his outfit and his appearance.
As soon as he told Zeus of his conversation with Helios, Zeus had decided to throw a grand feast, saying it would be the perfect moment to give Helios the chance to publicly make the announcement.

"This, my son will be a night to remember!"
Zeus said as he and Apollo both drowned another cup of ambrosia.
