Chapter 24

Brandon's POV
Two months went by and there was still no sign of Aubrey waking up. Her parents came a few days after the accident and have been with her ever since. Emily flew over a week ago and wouldn't leave her side. Aria, Barbara and Kendall comes over every single day, just hoping there would be a change. Christian, Sunny and Andrea come over once a week and pray she'll wake up. The boys take turns to look after her and Nick sometimes stays the night. And I, I've stopped eating, and I can't even fall asleep at times, I've been here every day with Aubrey and I can't ever leave her.

Right now I'm in the hospital singing to Aubrey, just hoping she would wake up. I sung my heart out to hear, my hands pressed down to my guitar while I was passionately strumming. This was probably my last way to get her up and it might just be a goodbye.

Austin's POV
I went inside Aubrey's hospital room with clean clothes and food for Brandon at around 9 in the morning. It was now the 10th of October, exactly two months after the crash.

When I went inside I saw Brandon singing "on my way" to Aubrey, so I decided to join in for the remainder of the song. I tried drumming against the tables and we both sung passionately.

Aubrey not waking up has affected all of us, especially Nick and Brandon. Brandon wouldn't leave Aubrey and Nick couldn't bare to see her face.
A: "Hey bro, it's been like 2 days since you've eaten or changed. I've got you some clean clothes, so I suggest you go and have a shower and then have some breakfast."
B: "But, what about Aubrey. She needs me."
A: "Don't worry, I'll be right here with her. I might even sing."
B: "Ummm, okay thanks"

With that, Brandon left the room. He looked so broken and it broke me looking at him like that.
A: "Hey Aubrey, it's me Austin if you don't know already. I know you're in there somewhere, please come back to us soon, we're all missing you."

I started singing "happier" to her and soon heard the other boys come inside with Aubrey's parents. They all started singing with me and I looked over and smiled at them.

By the end of the song Nick started to cry and Edwin started to comfort him.
Z: "Where's Brandon?"
A: "I finally got him to go in the shower."
E: "Seriously? After two weeks?!"
A: "I know shocking"
Mrs Mara: "That's some progress though. I just hope my baby girl would wake up."

Mr and Mrs Mara came next to the hospital bed and held onto her hands and put their hands on her head. Nick went next to his mum and she cried onto his arms.
Mrs Mara: "Nick, I'm so scared. I want her to wake up."
N: "I know mum, I know"
Mr Mara: "Aubrey, please keep fighting, I know you can."
N: "Wake up, Aubrey. It hurts to see you like this. Please keep fighting for me, Brandon and everyone else that is staying strong for you."

Nick's POV
I rubbed Aubrey's hand and kissed her cheek. Brandon came into the room and started talking to Edwin, he seemed really upset and Edwin successfully got him to eat. I smiled at the whole scene and slowly started singing one of me and Aubrey's favourite songs until I felt Aubrey move her head.
N: "She just moved mum!"
Mrs Mara: "Someone call the doctor!!!"
Mr Mara: "I'll go and get him."

Brandon looked up and ran straight to the bed.
B: "Keep fighting baby. We need you."
N: "It's okay Brandon, she's going to wake up."

The doctor came in and saw Aubrey moving her hands. He called in the nurse and they both took Aubrey into the surgery room to do some testing.
E: "She's going to wake up, it's going to be okay."
Z: "You hear that Brandon, she'll be okay."

5 hours later
I called Emily, Aria, Barbara and Kendall and told them the news. They all came over as fast as possible. Christian, Sunny and Andrea came over a few hours ago and were waiting for some news.

Mum and dad came outside with the biggest smile on their faces. Mum nodded her head at me and I ran over to her.
Mrs Mara: "She woke up Nick, she's alive."
Andrea: "I was right mum, I told you she'll make it."
Christian: "My little sister is back!"
Sunny: "That's such great news!"

As soon as I began talking I saw Aubrey being brought down in a wheelchair and I had the biggest smile on my face.
N: "Hey little sis."
Aubrey: "Nick? I've missed you so much. Brandon?"
B: "Hey babygirl."
