I only put part of the article because it would be a hassle to put the whole thing, but you get the gist of it.

The article goes on and on about the freak accident at the Golden Gate bridge, and who would've thought such thing could happen and the many movie comparisons. They also talked about the victims and the divers working for days, the bridge being closed, hospitals asking for blood donations and all the people taken in for injuries, and those in critical condition.

I was one of the critical condition cases. I was 16.

I swam and swam, trying to reach the surface after I got out of the car, but the falling cars and debris made it difficult. My right shoulder got injured when the seatbelt locked after the crash, it left a big purple bruise across my collarbone. Adrenaline kicked in when I was swimming, that's why I didn't feel the pain when I was swimming, but it began to hit the more I pushed myself.

When I finally made it to the surface, I gasped for air, coughed out the water I inhaled, tried to yell for help but it was impossible. I was freezing, in pain, gasping for air. I could hear the creaking of the bridge, cars still falling, that's when I saw a beam of the bridge come down and I dived back in the water to protect myself, you know, like they do in the movies.

Water slows down the speed of things. I guess I wasn't fast enough to swim out of the way when the beam hit the water and the back of my head.

I should've died. I really should've. No one can survive that, but somehow I did. A diver pulled me out of the water. They checked my pulse, and they said I was dead, but I coughed out water, gasped for air and then passed out. That's what they said, I don't remember much after the beam hit me on the head.

It took almost a week for me to wake up. I was in critical condition the whole time. The doctors said I had hypothermia, lung injury (there was water in my lungs), dislocated shoulder, cracked ribs, massive head injury, amongst other things.
