Since Valentine's month is nearing, I've come up with this project. It's a fanfiction set five years after what transpired in the end of the drama. For everyone who watched If We Were a Season, we all know what happened in the end--an unexpected conclusion that left our hearts moved! It was painful, but sweet and addictive, despite only one episode.
Don't get me wrong. It's not that I'm dissatisfied with the writer's decision; I actually applaud the writer for turning a cliche plot into a gripping and meaningful story. It's just so happened I'm a fan of the lead actor Jang Dong-yoon (you might know him from School 2017 and Solomon's Perjury) and the great chemistry he showed with actress Chae Soo-bin (you might know her from I'm Not a Robot and Where Stars Land). They gave life to the characters as if Yoon Hae-rim and Uhm Gi-seok were real persons walking this earth. [ MINOR SPOILER ] I've only been with them for an hour, but it felt like I've watched them for days. I can't believe a one-episode drama could actually make me run emotional. Normally, I have to invest time before a drama could take me "up there".

This is what inspired me to write. I want to explore the possibilities of this wonderful pairing thru continuing the story of their characters. And if I get lucky, we'd finally get [ MODERATE SPOILER ]how a hug is always a better ending than a kiss, or perhaps, why a love between a boy and girl doesn't always equate to romance. Did I make sense? Haha! I really don't know. Also, new and original characters will be introduced in the story and Jinyoung's character Oh Dong-kyeong will return, of course.
For the purpose of comfort and familiarity, I used English first names instead of Korean. Gi-seok becomes Jacob, Hae-rim becomes Erin, and Dong-kyeong becomes Darren. I've tried my best to pick suitable names so forgive me if they're too plain.
Anyway, I don't want to sound dragging so let's wrap this up.
If you haven't watchedIf We Were a Season, I highly recommend it--just prepare some tissues and ice cream--kidding! But if you don't want to watch the whole drama, it's fine. You can watch the official music video posted above; it's the perfect preview.
