Roselia's POV
In a world where there were poisonous mushrooms, deadly snakes, strangling octopus, pufferfish, electrifying jellyfishes, dart frogs, vicious vipers, malaria-infested mosquitoes and killer sharks, I was fortuitously safe.
And it wasn't because I was living in a world with the deadliest things in the universe but it was completely and quintessentially him.
"Do you want lunch?" He bent down and said so that I could hear him over the ruckus of the hospital madness. I was in a new attire of a blue T-shirt and jeans I borrowed from Jenna. I wouldn't want to show up in Jasper's baggy clothing.
"I'm still full." I replied, fully honest about my state. He walked in front of me and pushed through the double glass doors to the reception with me trailing behind him through our interlocked fingers. I suggested that we walked by ourselves since our mothers would be disappointed to see us deliberately requiring the support of other people to walk since they taught us from an early age to walk with our own legs. But he responded with; 'My mom taught me to take care of people I care about.'
What did I do?
I blushed and allowed him.
He glanced at me with a playful grin. "Which you didn't care to share with me."
"Well, I would've if Vanessa didn't interrupt." I tilted my head and looked to the side to recall the incident. "You might want to burn your sheets, though."
"I'm just going to move all my stuff to another room. I won't be touching that room anymore." He chuckled as we crossed the hallways filled with medical professionals in scrubs, scurrying through the white-lit halls with more than one clipboard to balance on a single hand. Of course he could do that, he had thousands of rooms vacant in that dingy mansion.
We walked side by side to where Nana's being treated. It's amazing how he's found me in this mess and memorized the direction to my Nana's room within a single visit.
"I'll have to get Vanessa's approval too, don't I?" He sighed loudly.
With a raised head, I nodded proudly for having a 'supportive' best friend. "Yep!"
My vision was already getting better by the second and the stinging wholly stopped. I could see Dani's figure with an exhilarated expression on her face just outside of Nana's room. On her opposite, there was a middle-aged male doctor, different from the one who tended to Nana when she was first admitted. I couldn't care less about what he looked like; it was Dani's sudden suspicious affability to another human.
We walked to her as she stared dreamy-eyed to the doctor who was explaining to her about the dosage regimens for Nana's medication. The doctor's body had a slight inclination towards her, too. Based on the small smile on the doctor's face, he wasn't totally repulsed by her. In fact, they might both be interested in each other.
Out of respect, Jasper drew out his hand from mine and looked at me with a smile, conveying 'I'll come back for it.'
"Oh!" Just noticing our presence, Dani whirled around. "This is my baby sister and this is her boyfriend. Looking at them just makes me want to have a relationship, too!" She said, way too pleased.
I looked at my big sister with disbelief in my eyes. 'I noticed that!'
She returned it with, 'So what?'
"Hello." With a polite voice, the doctor held out his hand. Jasper was fast. He firmly shook his hand like they were agreeing on a business deal.
"Jasper." He introduced himself and gestured a hand towards me.
