I hate it when people say that Bisexual and Pansexual are the same when they are not!
Lets start off with the definition for the prefix Pan shall we:

Next is the definition for the prefix of Bi:

So as you can see they are not the same sexualities at all.
BIsexual is when you could be attracted to the two BInary gender identities as BI means two.
PANsexual is for when you could be attracted to all of the gender identities (for example gender queer, demi-boy, demi-girl, transgender, ECT.) as PAN means all.
