Zelda bolted upright when she heard the hospital wing door open behind her. It was the middle of the night. Mipha, as quietly as she could, pulled up a chair on the other side of Link's bed, opposite Zelda. Mipha took Link's other hand and layed her head down, like Zelda had done, and fell asleep.

Zelda was too tired to argue with herself so she did the same, and soon she was asleep too.

"Zelda..."

Zelda started to stir.

"Zelda?"

Zelda jumped out of her seat!

"Link!" Mipha woke up when the Princess shouted, and she too saw Link.

Link sat upright in his bed, painfully at first but when it eased off, Link looked at the two concerned women Infront of him.

To Link's right, he saw Mipha, his best childhood friend, her face a deeper shade of red than normal and a smile across her cheeks.

To Link's left, he saw Zelda... Oh the Goddesses! She looked so beautiful! Link couldn't help but look her up and down. He loved the way the rich purple agreed with her eyes. He loved the way her gown was low cut, and with the way she was positioned to Link, it showed a lot. He loved the way her perfect legs were poking out from the skirt of her gown. He loved the way her hair fell down her shoulders in cute curls. He loved everything about her, but he could show it.

Link gulped and looked at Mipha for a distraction.

"What happened?" Link asked hoarsely.

"I brought you back to the castle as soon as I could... You've been asleep for nearly a week..." Zelda said, squeezing his hand a little.

"So... What have you been-" link started.

"I've been watching over you" Zelda burst out, ending in her face turning a shade of pink.

"Oh..." Link said, scratching the back of his head so as to end the awkward silence.

Relief spread over both Zelda and Link when the doctor walked in.

"Oh... Well, Master Link, good to see that you are up and about. Now, Princess Mipha, Princess Zelda, I need to see to Link, and, by the looks of things, I believe that breakfast is about to be served."

Mipha and Zelda gasped, they had spent so much time fussing over Link that they never noticed the windows filling with sunshine, signalling dawn.

Once out of the hospital wing, Zelda looked at her appearance.

"Oh my Goddesses! I forgot I was wearing this" Zelda blushed and tried to cover herself up.

"Nonsense! Don't be ashamed, when I heard Link was hurt, I came here as soon as I could. I didn't even have time to tell my dad. That's why I had to leave earlier. I can see that you were surprised to see me, you didn't even have time to dress." Mipha chuckled before placing a hand on Zelda's shoulder.

"Come on, I'll help you pick out a dress." Mipha said speeding down the corridors towards Zelda's room.

Zelda, reluctantly at first, started after her.

***

"Nah, I prefer the other one, Princess." Mipha scoffed, pointing to the dark pink dress.

Finally agreeing, Zelda walked behind her dressing screen. She undid her silk gown and pulled on the beautiful rosey robe.

"Um... Could you help me do my corset?" Zelda asked sheepishly.

"Sure, Princess."

As Zelda came out, Mipha grabbed the ends of the corset threads and began to tie them up.

"Can I ask you something?" Zelda said flat out.

Mipha hummed her response.

"How do you know Link?"

"Well... Where to start... We met when we were children... We was so skilled with a blade and he would come running up to me with a different cut or bruise everyday" Mipha chuckled and Zelda joined her.

"Anyways, he spent some time in Zora's Domain and, with all the time I spent healing him, I got to know him pretty well... During his time as the Green Ranger, he visited a few times more. He was my only friend..." Mipha trailed off sadly.

"What did you whisper to Link?" Zelda accidentally let slip.

"Oh... I said, 'Friends don't die on each other'... It sounds silly but Link said that when I cut myself on a thorn bush and I started to bleed. He was so young and brave so he tried to comfort me..." Zelda couldn't help but laugh along with Mipha.

Maybe Zelda really did have a chance with Link after all...
