Hermione's pov

The first night will be the hardest for me. I still haven't gotten quite over the whole sleeping by myself thing, but i knew i had to.

I walked into my room and sat on my bed. I couldn't believe I'm actually here, it seems so strange.

"Um...excuse me? My name is Parvati Patil. It's nice to meet you. I just wanted to introduce myself since we're going to be staying in the room together" A sweet indian girl introduced herself

Someone actually wants to talk to me?

"My name is Hermione Granger. It's nice to meet you as well"

"So since we're already becoming friends, would you like to sit by me at breakfast tomorrow? My sister is in ravenclaw, so i don't know anyone" She asks shyly

"Of course, i will save you a spot. I can also introduce you to my friend Harry. He likes meeting new people" I can't believe i already made a friend this year

"Harry Potter? I've heard you two are very close friends. He even told off Weasley for being rude" She sat on my bed and started gossiping with me

"Yeah he's my best friend. He didn't like what Ron was saying. But at least he didn't make it in the same house as me" I told her and she started giggling

"I already like you Hermione. Tomorrow I can introduce you to my sister" She says happily before walking away to unpack

I have to tell Harry, I already made a friend and she is so nice. I finished unpacking and made my way to the common room. When I got downstairs, i could see Harry in a conversation with a few boys, i believe their names are Dean and Seamus.

"Hey Harry" I quickly hugged his back before standing beside him

"Hey Mione. This is Dean and Seamus. Guys this is my best friend Hermione. They are my new roommates, along with Neville but he went to sleep early"

"M'lady. It's absolutely a pleasure. Harry already told us so much about you" Dean greeted shaking my hand

"It is a pleasure to meet you both. I'm glad Harry has such nice roommates" I was so happy he was making friends

"Indeed. Now if you'll excuse us, we need to go unpack. Catch you later Harry" They said before leaving

"Harry we made friends. Those boys seem so nice. I also made a friend, her name is Parvati and she said she wants to sit with me a breakfast" I told him eagerly pulling him in for a hug

"That's great. See? This year is already off to a great start. I can't wait for classes tomorrow. Of course I'm nervous, but we have all the same classes so that helps" He says pulling me to the couch

I could see a few stares here and there, but otherwise no one noticed us sitting together.

"I can't wait" I laid my head on his shoulder and we sat in front of the fire

The next morning....

I woke up pretty early, after changing into my uniform i made my way to the common room. Harry and i usually got up early, so i knew he would already be awake.

"Good morning. How did you sleep?" Harry asks tiredly

"Great. You apparently didn't"

"No. I was up reading another one of those spell books you got at diagon alley. I want to be ready for today. So are you ready?" He asks me
