The warm rays of the sun landed softly on my pillow, waking me up.

My eyes fluttered opened and I rolled over on the other side.

I groaned.

Morning already?

I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and checked the date.

12:15 pm, Friday

I let out a breath of relief.

Friday was my day off.

The week passed by quickly and I finally had time to rest.

I didn't have to worry about the merman, or the offer, or anything that has to do with the aquarium that stresses me out.

It was time for me.

Only me.

Only me.

I nodded at no one and got out of bed.

I let the sheets splayed on the bed; not even bothering to make it.

I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth.

My reflection met my eyes.

My dark brown hair rested on my shoulders; being a little past my chest. My big brown eyes, almost black, bored back into me. My skin wasn't tan and yet also not an ivory pale color.

I was average.

Average life. Average face. Average body.

I never cared though. Or do.

I put on a hoodie and leggings; not feeling the need to dress up.

I walked down the stairs.

Silence.

My dad was already out of the house, probably doing errands.

He lived by the motto that it's better to get things done early than never.

I strongly disagree with that.

I ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch, not having the mood to make something big and special.

I noticed that today, I didn't have the mood to do anything.

As I finished with my cereal, I cleaned my dishes and went up to my room.

I plopped down on my bed.

What am I supposed to do now?

I was alone and had nothing to do.

For some, the idea would be pleasing to hear, but I could never just sit around.

Either it is work, homework or painting, but I never took time to rest.
