If I Have But One Regret...

Third Person View

One Month Later...

Solar and Sunset were standing at the wedding altar on their special day. They already exchanged vows and rings, and the priest said, "I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride."

Solar gave Sunset a quick peck on the lips and the whole crowd cheered for  the happy couple. After the reception, Sunset and Solar were heading to their new home, when they got to their house, Solar carried Sunset bridal style to the house. Sunset was smiling and was happy that she got married to her best friend.

A Few Days Later...

Solar and Sunset were painting a room in their new house, Sunset said, "And I think this should look nice, don't you think Solar?" Solar said, "Yep, it sure does." After they painted the room, later when it was close to dark,  Solar and Sunset were sitting in their front yard, looking at the gorgeous sunset.

Sunset then said, "Huh, what a beautiful sunset. She then turned her head on Solar's chest and said, "I love you." Solar smiled and said, "I love you too."

The next day, Sunset got a call from the hospital, saying that Solar got into a car-crash. Sunset rushed to the hospital and was directed to his room. When she got there, Solar was sleeping. Sunset pulled up a chair and waited for him to wake up. She started to sob, thinking that Solar wouldn't make it. The monitor was beeping a steady beat, Solar then reached his arm out to Sunset, and he wiped away her tears and said, "It's okay... I love you." Sunset smiled and said, "I love you too." Then her face turned to horror as the monitor gave a long beep.

Sunset then cried out and said, "Wait... Please, no! Please don't leave me! No... you can't..."

As Solar died, his final thoughts were, "If I have but one regret... It's only that I must leave you now... I'm so sorry, my beautiful Sunset... My love..."
