"The rules are simple..." Kakashi produced 2 silver bells " All you have to do is take these bells from me."

"But there are only 2 bells and 3 people..." Sasuke questioned.

Kakashi eye smiled "Good observation Sasuke. Why don't you try to find out the meaning of this on your own huh? But...." Kakashi suddenly became serious "If you fail to do so, you fail. The rest who manage to get a bell pass. Now, you have time till noon. That's 2hrs to get these bells. The person who fails will not get lunch, be tied to a post and will be sent back to the academy." He finished darkly before brightening up and removing an alarm clock from his vest. He set the alarm for noon.

"OooK. Your time starts now!" He said and kept the alarm on the centre post (the tree stump).

All the genins quickly took cover, while Kakashi removed his book Make-Out Paradise and began reading. He sat under the shade of the tree wondering if they would find out the true meaning of this test and what strategy they would use. If in case they didn't then he wondered who would make the first move. "Probably naruto" he thought.

Sasuke had hidden in a tree not frame from his sensei. He had clear view and a backup plan in case he was spotted. All he needed to do was wait for an opening.

Sakura hid in a bush few metres behind Kakashi. She had a Kunais in her hand while her eyes looked around for Sasuke. She thought about all those tactics and strategies they learnt in the academy and wondered which strategy her sensei was expecting.

All this time, Naruto was leaning against a tree further away from the rest pondering over the reason of Kakashi having only 2 bells.

Of course it has some sort of inner meaning... 3 of us and 2 bells clearly mean that 1 of us will fail...but I have never seen a 3 man squad. If this was a mission one of us would have to sacrifice themself...Is this about that? Maybe. What would we do in that situation? Proceed with the mission is the right answer no doubt but.... What does every sensei want from his team...

He thought about it for a few minutes while keeping a close eye on his surroundings.

THATS IT!

WHAT?

Teamwork Kurama, Teamwork. That's what he wants. He wants to see how we come together to get those bells and if we're willing to risk ourselves. That's it! Now I must find the others and tell them!

Naruto smiled and headed towards Sasuke and sakura unaware of what would happen next...(of course coz I'm the author lol)

He stood in front of his two very unimpressed teammates.

"Why the hell did you kidnap us like that?!" Sakura screeched clearly unhappy with the situation.

"Yeah, that was unnecessary, you could've just called us....as if you had something important to say." Sasuke rolled his eyes at the end.

"Actually..." Naruto began "I do have something important to say-"

"Tch, as if" Sasuke mumbled

Ignoring him Naruto continued "I know what this test is about... Teamwork. He wants us to come up with a plan and take those bells using teamwork."

Sasuke and Sakura stared at him.

"Oh come on don't.act like you don't get it. Why would there be only 2 bells? And anyways have you seen a three man squad? No. He wants us to come up with a strategy as if this was a mission." Naruto quickly explained.

Silence.

Then Sasuke smirked, seeing hi. Sakura started laughing.

"What..." Naruto was really confused.

Sasuke leaned in near naruto's face "Do you actually think we'll believe you? You the deadlast?"

Naruto was shocked. He knew Sasuke hated him but....

"Yeah, you can't even do a simple Jutsu do you actually think that we'll believe your theory" sakura joined.

"You're so full of shit." Sasuke spat.

Sakura sneered at Naruto and glanced at Sasuke hoping he would like her for being on his side.

They looked at naruto's pained expression.

He was hurt, his heart raced as all those memories came back to him. All those words and scars...

Calm down kit. They're idiots they-

No Kurama. They're right. I am a failure whose birth was a mistake and the world would probably be better off without him.

But I can't do anything about that now can I?

He pushed away all those thoughts as he dropped his mask.

Naruto's expression changed. Before it was all dad and almost as if he was about to cry but now....his face was blank. His usually bright eyes were dull.

Sasuke mentally frowned. "What happened to him suddenly?" He thought.

"Fine." Naruto suddenly declared. He turned on his heels and started walking away towards where Kakashi was sitting.

"Where are you going dobe?" Sasuke asked.

Naruto stopped and turned his head slightly. He stared at Sasuke. His eyes were so....cold...

"Why do you care Sasuke Uchiha." He said and disappeared in a flicker. Leaving an astounded Sasuke and Sakura.
