69. Just two nerds

We all took some time for ourselves. I got out my Ipod and started listening to music to calm me down. This was it, the moment I had dreaded for so long. I was gonna see the man from my visions. 

I was sitting on a rock, just breathing in and out, preparing. 

" Can I sit down?" Peter asked. 

I nodded " Sure." 

" Are you okay?" he asked worried. 

" Yeah, I think so." I told him. 

" This is it huh," he sighed. 

" He's been in my head for six years." I said " This is it, the final sprint."

" Flashlight and Spider-Man." he smiled " We're just two nerds trying to save the galaxy." He always knew how to make me smile. 

I handed him one of the earbuds so he could listen to the music as well. It were 70s and 80s jams. 

" I uhm." he started. I looked at him. " I need to tell you something. And I know it's bad timing since we're about to have the biggest fight of our lives but, if I don't tell you I'll regret it and-" 

I interrupted him " Peter, just say it." 

He looked nervous. " ...I love you." he said. 

I looked at him, speechless, had he just told me he loves me? 

" Oh god," he said " I am so stupid." 

" Nonono Peter" I interrupted him again " I love you too." I told him. His face lighted up with the most beautiful smile I had ever seen. He put his hand in mine. " When all of this is over," I said " All I wanna do is ly on the roof and watch the stars." 

" And I'll bring the food, as always." Peter said. 

" Ice cream?" I asked, already dreaming about it. 

" Of course, but you better have pizza." he smiled. 

" It's a date Parker." I told him. 

" It sure is." he said. 

He was looking into my eyes, I could just look at him all day. He started to come closer. Oh god, this was it, he was gonna kiss me. But I wasn't gonna stop him. I closed my eyes and before I knew he kissed me.

" Uhum." I heard and we looked at who had seen us. It was Quill. " Are you kids seriously making out right now?" he asked confused. 

" Whilst listening to escape from Rupert Holmes." Peter smiled proudly. 

" Nice man!" Quill said now impressed. 

Dad was standing right next to him. " How did I not see this coming?" he asked, himself more than us. " I just wanted to let you know that it's time." he then said. 

" Ready?" Peter asked me. 

" Ready." I said. 

But before we got into position I wanted to talk to my dad one last time. " Dad?" I asked and he turned around at me, worry written all over his face. 

" You ready Pumpkin?" he asked. 

I nodded, " He's been in our heads for years dad, we're ending it, today." 

He smiled and hugged me. " Be careful." he told me. 

" You too." I said. 

Breaking off the hug I looked at him one last time " Let's kick his ass." he said.

It's a short chapter. But next one will be crazy.

Thanos and Odette will finallly face  off.
