LIANA Aubrey Holly was exhausted from a long day at work.

She was leaning against the counter in Honeydukes, her head resting against her hands as she sat in the now closed store. It was dark outside and raining, the gentle splatter of water against the window creating a soothing atmosphere.

"I need to head home to my dad now Liana- I left your paycheck behind the counter," Will smiled as he strolled in from the storeroom, brushing a hand through his golden hair. Liana nodded, her eyes not meeting Will's as she reached from her bottle of firewhiskey she had stored under the table.

"If you're going to get hammered, make sure you don't talk to any strange men and come straight back to my flat. My dad is more than happy for you to crash there," Will raised an eyebrow as Liana just looked at him flatly and took a heavy swig of the toxic liquid.

"I'll see you tomorrow Will," Liana gave him a stretched smile and waved as the tall boy pulled on his cloak and began making his way down the cold street towards his flat.

Things with Will had definitely been strange since the end of the summer term, the pair had sunken back into the position of friends easily, putting a unspoken stop to any advancements made in their relationship. Liana had begun to question if there was even anything romantic going on between them in the first place, she wondered if it was just her feeling lonely and miserable without her friends that she had latched onto Will. Had it all just been in her imagination?

Liana sighed and took another swig of the fire whiskey that sat beside her, trying to drown out her sorrows with the fiery liquid that felt like it was scorching her throat as it slid down. She couldn't help but grimace at the taste, despite not being a first time drinker.

She sat in the silence as she reflected on everything that had happened last year. It felt like her third year had been blissfully peaceful in comparison. In her fourth year she had so many meaningless fights with the people she loved, she had fallen in and out of love for a boy who now took second place to Harry, Grey came out as gay and she had of one of her older classmates had been murdered. And to top it off Voldemort was back.

The very thought sent shivers down her spine, but in a strange way encouraged her. If Voldemort could survive all those years as a foetus of his former being, maybe- there was the smallest sliver of hope that her parents were alive, where ever they were.

Liana was so lost in thought she barely heard the back door of the store click. But when the padlock fell to the floor with a soft clatter Liana spun around at once, her heart racing in her chest. Panic came rushing in like a hammer pounding on her head as she remembered the horrors of being trapped in Moody's small trunk room at the end of the last year, what it was like to face what felt like sure death in the future and to know that Harry was in danger and she could do nothing to prevent it.
