LET ME

All my life I was living a lie,
It seems that my childhood has flown right by.
That carefree little girl of three or four,
Is now becoming a teen.

I see, to my surprise,
A completely different person
Staring in my eyes.
Before I run out of this time,
And it will be a moment to say goodbye,
Let me make unfadeable memories.

Let me laugh till it hurts,
Let the tears drop.
Let me cherish the moments
And give it my best.

Let me see what's right in front of me,
With vision crystal clear.
Let me forgive myself for my mistakes,
While forgiving others theirs.

Let me wake each day with gratitude,
For all my life maybe.
Let me always feel that wonderment
At the world surrounding me.

Let me welcome any stranger 
With an open heart and mind.
Let me always stand for what is right
With all the strength that I can find.

Let me not forget what matters
In the scheme of every day.
Let me face what's waiting there for me,
With no hesitance or fear.

Let me become who I'm
In those moments I live.
Let me feel all that I can.

Let me cherish life for all its worth,
With everything I'm.
