"Oi Lass, Wake up," someone gave me hard tap on my cheek.
"Rupert, Carefully, she is still a Lass," Jamie said and I groaned before opening my eyes.
Still hoping that my travel to the past was all a dream, but that was quickly shatterd when I saw the roof of the house I was in.
I laid quit comfortable on the cold floor to be honest and someone had taken the deceny to cover me with a blanket. Which I quickly discovers was someone's tartan.
"We have to ride out, Jamie's arm is healed enough to make the trip." The bald man from the beginning said and someone helpt me carefully up.
"Ever ride a horse Lass?" Jamie asked and without thinking a shoke my head.
"Never needed a Horse." I answered and I saw confused looks. "To ride on... I was travelled by carriage where ever I was going."
"Hmh," The man huffed. "Jamie she is riding with ye till Leoch,"
This resulted in loud wolf howls and whistles. Jamie how ever didn't paid attention to it and let me outside the cold night in.
"Which season is it?" I asked and he looked confused at me.
"It's early summer," he whispered. "Come maw horse is there," he pulled me with him and helped me up the horse before he sat behind me. when he sat behind me he quickly took his tartan of his shoulder and wrapped it so around us that I was fully covered and himself.
With nothing between us but his Shirt and mine dress, I could feel his warm chest which was apparently rock hard from abs.
I tried to distract myself from that fact by wrapping my toughts about what happend.
I clearly was no longer in the 21th century and my background as historian quickly figured it out it was either before or after the Jacobite rising and that meant I was in the 18th century. On the back of a horse with Scottish men around me who where singing and laughing through out the silence night.
Which year it was precisly I didn't know and I knew that If I asked it would blow my cover of a Shipwreck surviver.
The horse slipped and because I didn't hold myself on the saddle or anything else I moved to the edge of the saddle and almost fell of the horse if Jamie didn't catch me.
"Here, hold the front of the saddle that gives ye more balance," his warm hands placed mine on the edge of the saddle and fold my fingers around it. "Jesus there like ice," I looked at mine hands and saw that they were indeed blue from the cold which I hadn't noticed.
"It's fine," I said. "They will warm up eventually."
"Whin that froze aff, Bit let's nae come that far,' he said and he laid one hand in the middle of my hands. "So do tell me Greer, Why Ireland?"
"I.. ehh.." I tried to make a story in my hand and decided to stick with some truth. "I was about to be married off to some guy, which I don't like at all, so before the ceremonie had happend I took the first boat that I saw and that one was going to Ireland. It was not really mine first plan to go there," I told him.
The true story, I was indeed engaged with my boyfriend which I had a relationship with for almost seven years. But when we where talking about the wedding plans and the future, I got cold feet. I wanted to see the world and he wanted to start a family as soon as the ring was on mine finger. I also questioned my true feelings for him so I made a deal with him.
I was traveling along the UK for four months and if I still loved him after that we would get married, if not we broke up.
Before I ended up here I was three months gone and to be completely honest my love for him dissapeard as soon as stepped out of the plane in London. I didn't wore my engagement ring from then and I started to ignore him because that was also part of the deal. He would not contact me as long as I didn't do it first.
"Oi lass, are ye okay? Am talking tae ye," Jamie said behind me and I snapped out of my flashback.
"Hmh?" I asked sheepish.
"Ah asked ye if ye wanted tae dram something," he holded a flask before me. still setting the Scottish accent over in English It took me a while to figure out dram meant drink.
I took the flask and took a huge sip, immediately regretting it when I tasted it was whiskey. I started to cough and bend over beside the horses neck to spit it out.
"A warning was kind of you," I said when the coughing stopped.
"Sorry I thought you ken it." He said with a soft smile.
I knew whiskey I drank it a few times at home, mixed with Coke and not pure.
He took mine silence as a no and apologised. "Tried to sleep Lass were not arriving at Leoch until the midday." I nodded suddenly feeling tired, but at the same time I didn't wanted to miss the surrounding even in the dark.
But sleep took over and fell surprisingly comfortable in sleep.
