Klaus's Pov

My father was the previous emperor and was nothing more than a lustful old man born with a silver spoon in his mouth

Being the only male heir of my grandfather, my father easily gained a hold of the throne despite his complete lack of capabilities

If it weren't for the blood running through his veins there's no doubt my father would never be able to achieve such standing with his intelligence

He was so unbelievably foolish and easily influenced by the ministers and nobility

Despite his inability to be a righteous ruler, a coup d'état had never occurred

After all, why would they need to when they could effortlessly control the idiotic emperor like a puppet on a string? It'd simply be a waste of resources and manpower

During his reign, my father had a disgusting amount of women and mistresses

It seemed that as long as the women were beautiful, he wouldn't hesitate to become intimate with them without even being aware of their intentions

Normally this wouldn't be such a problem, it was normal for men to indulge in their lust but the emperor was so easily enchanted

He would suddenly "fall in love" with young beautiful women than in his pursuit, would pamper them to no extent and shower them in riches

Then he'd eventually lose favour in his "love" and find a new target, and thus the cycle constantly rinsed and repeated

During that time the citizens of the kingdom were currently suffering from poverty and had difficulties feeding their own families so seeing the so-called ruler act in such a way ignited their hatred and anger

My mother was undoubtedly an extremely beautiful and attractive noble lady thus it was no surprise that the emperor gained an interest in the youthful beauty

Out of all his "loves", this was the emperors most intense and passionate one, he had practically promised to make my mother queen which furiously angered the actual legitimate queen

My mother was indeed very beautiful to the extent she could seduce any man no matter his title and she knew this well

She was as toxic as beautiful and resembled a rose, beautiful but covered in dangerous poisonous thorns

When she had given birth to me, she was only 17 well my father, on the other hand, was already well over his mid-thirties

She seemed more like his daughter than a lover

Until I was around 13 I was insanely pampered by my father and was granted the title of the crown prince and first heir to the throne

Thus all my father's wives and children hated me to the point they despised me

My life was sailing smoothly until one evening my mother was caught in bed with the handsome prime minister

My father was furious

He publicly exiled the adulterous pair and claimed that my mother was an evil witch who had used her charm magic to seduce him

Perhaps due to the fact I was still his son with his blood, he spared me from death however he stripped me of all my titles and practically downgraded me to a servant

My father's wives and children didn't hesitate to step on me- the son of the wicked witch who had seduced the emperor for years

To be completely honest I was well aware of my mother's frequent engagements in adultery with multiple men however I simply did not care

She had not once taken care of me nor paid attention to me during my childhood so I treated her the same way

Years later my father died and one of my many brothers took over the throne

In the end, I ended up killing all of my siblings and stepmothers well taking the throne and kingdom for myself

I grew the kingdom into a large powerful empire and provided the citizens with everything they needed thus I was loved but also feared for my ruthless ways

Well not that I cared

I ended up accidentally having my first daughter with a "talented escort" who had taken my virginity

My father was the one who had sent her over to me when I was 13 with the personal guarantee of her skills

I did not love nor care for her or the child but I kept them anyways

The first princess was later born and was named Laura

I didn't bother with them and let them live freely

During my childhood, I was once facing a grave injury when a kind doctor had suddenly come and saved my life

After becoming emperor I later found out he was known as the divine doctor and let him ask for any wish from me as long as it was in reasonable measures

The divine doctor who was now elderly did not request for much in fact he only asked of one thing: for me to take in his only offspring, Lady Lena as his wife and protect her after he had passed

Thus I agreed and married Lady Lena as my first wife despite not having any romantic feelings towards her

However due to her genuine kindness and understanding of her position, we became great friends and she later gave birth to my son, the second prince Levin

My second wife, Lidia was the beloved spoiled daughter of a filthy rich merchant

She was haughty and arrogant but I married her to save the citizens from poverty

She bore two daughters, the second princess Renae and the fifth princess Vera and a son, the third prince Nolan

My last wife was the renowned princess of a foreign kingdom, her name was princess Mion

She was known throughout the lands for her powerful magic and was highly sought after by men

Our marriage like the other two was simply political, I did not love her but married her for the sake of my empire

She was the mother of the eldest prince Edwin and the pair of twins, third princess Adeline and youngest prince Ayren

Supposedly two of my one time flings also got pregnant with my child however I suspect they're both lying

I didn't ever recall sleeping with these women but they claimed I was extremely drunk when it occurred

Due to the facts, they were the daughters of two high-ranking dukes I decided to accept the children but only them

I had some random maid take care of them

Although they're my offspring I do not know if I can say I love them

None of them was born from love, I simply had them for the sake of it

However, as a father, I still did my duties to provide and protect them but I never got close to any of them

You can call me cruel, cold and heartless because in reality I really am

The only thing I really cared about is the empire
