Soren was going to find out what Nora was. "How could she have tricked me?"

"Tricked you? She was trying to stay away from you! You pursued her. I have never seen you do that before. What happened?" Ryker was curious.

They were in the archives in New York City public library. This was a great library for finding anything ancient or unknown.

Soren was going to figure this out and then kiss her. Kill her. Not kiss her. He had to stop doing that. What was wrong with him?

"I don't know. The second she walked in, I wanted her. I was furious when you winked at her. I don't know what that was!" Soren admitted. "I damn near dragged her to bed. I did drag her to bed."

"Maybe she is a siren. Bewitching you with her voice." Ryker was almost teasing his brother. Sirens stayed by large bodies of water.

Soren glared. "I know what you're doing. Plus, she would have entranced all of us, not just me." He ran a hand through his hair. "What did she do to me? Maybe she is a witch or enchantress?"

"Are you sure they were symbols and not just tattoos that she got and didn't know what they mean? People do it all the time with Japanese and Chinese."

"I saw a woman with a tattoo of the Chinese symbol for soup on her breast. She thought it said courage." Ryker was trying to explain this. He really wanted to help his brother.

Soren really liked Nora and Ryker was hoping she wasn't supernatural because Soren wouldn't recover if he killed her.

"No. Your should have seen her face. She looked scared when she woke up." Soren softened a little. Nora did look scared. She looked terrified of him.

She knew about whatever that was and knew they would hunt her. He wanted to, part of him. Most of him wanted to find her and kiss her, hold her and keep her safe. Part of him wanted to hunt her down and kill her like they are supposed to do. Like they were taught to do.

"She tried to warn me and cried and I followed her to her room. I ignored all of the red flags, Ryker. I should have been paying more attention."

"You think she knows what the symbols mean?" Ryker asked. He was curious now. They had dinner with that thing. Hell, his brother kissed it and slept in the same bed as it. He had to find out what it was. He wondered how dangerous it was.

"I don't know, Ryker. I didn't ask her as I was shooting at her." Soren felt bad. He shot at her. He was glad that he missed.

"You missed?" Ryker asked. He noticed that Soren said her not it.

"Yes. I didn't want to kill her." Soren was trying to be honest.

"Oh, man. You got it bad for a supernatural creature!" Ryker just laughed.

Soren was horrified. What if his smart ass brother was right? What if he had a thing for that thing? "Shut up or I will kick your ass!" He warned.

Ryker just laughed.

Nora waited for the hunters to show up and kill her at any time but time passed and nothing. There was no sign of them.

Break was over and class began and that helped Nora to stay calm. Back into the routine. She needed to get away and haunt something.

The brothers were long gone by now, she was sure of that. She had no idea why they would leave her alive. That was going to make her wonder and keep her up at night. She was already having weird dreams.

Hyde was worried that they were waiting and biding their time. Nora was secretly thinking the same thing. They were probably searching for ways to kill her. She shuttered. All she could do was wait for Soren to show up and kill her. She wondered if she would hear the gunshot.

Poppy told Nora about the man she met and it ended up being Josh, Hyde's friend. They were a couple by Christmas. They were disgusting to watch. Nora needed to get out or she was going to snap.

It had been two weeks and Hyde was watching her like a hawk so Nora sneaked away while he slept in a chair, beside her bed. He wasn't letting her out of his sight, which was thoughtful but unrealistic.

Nora drove to the house. Her closest haunt. She floated around. There was no one and silence. This was nice. She still panicked every time she heard a leaf ruffle.

She was sure they were long gone because she couldn't sense a person anywhere close and a large part of her was sad about that. She was really trying not to think about Soren or miss him.

She caught herself watching their shows with Poppy just so she can see Soren and hear his voice.
