Fred x reader ~ dog?

Fred survived the war

You walked into the living room and saw Fred. Fred proposed to you right before the war. He barely survived and you were so happy he did. After the war you managed to find a new home together. You sat down besides him and snuggled against him. Fred smiled and wrapped an arm around you.

You were Sirius' daughter. You met Fred at Hogwarts. Your animagi was a fox.

'Goodmorning.' He smiled at you.

'Hi.' You smiled.

'I thought I'd let you sleep.' Fred said.

'Thanks.' You grinned.

It was quite for a moment while Fred played with your hair.

'Fred I want to ask you something.'

'What's up?' Fred asked.

'Can we get a dog?' You asked.

Fred looked at you for a moment.

'A dog?' He asked.

'Yes.' You said. 'A dog.'

Fred was quiet for a moment. You really wanted a dog. Like really badly. You loved dogs. You were now living together and it was something you needed to discuss.

'I don't know..'

'Please?' You asked.

'No. I don't want a dog.' Fred said.

You sat up and looked at him.

'Why not?' You asked.

'It's a lot of work. You need to train in, you need to walk it, get food, it'll break your furniture. It'll put our relationship to the test.'

'But it cuddles, it'll give you an excuse to walk more often and it will give you unconditional love.'

'I've got you for that last part.' He grinned.

You sighed and leaned back against the back of the couch.

'Don't be like this. Maybe later we can get a dog.'

You didn't want a dog later. You wanted one now. It would be good for Fred. His almost death experience took quite a toll on him.

'It would be good for you.' You said.

'Stop. We need to take decision together and I don't want a dog right now.'

'Please?'

'No.'

'Please?'

'No.'

'Please?'

'Stop.'

Fred turned to you. You wouldn't stop begging him to get a dog with you. You had been quite annoying.

'Stop it please. I love you, but you're being annoying.'

'Then give me my dog! Please, I'll take care of it! You don't have to do anything. I promise.'

Fred grabbed your hands and lowered them. You looked at him.

'Please let it go. We have a wedding coming up, I can't just spend that much money on a dog right now. I don't have that much, my family doesn't have much.'

He saw you were disappointed. He leaned in and kissed you. You kissed him back.

'I love you, okay?'

'I know.. I've just always wanted a dog. My mum is allergic so we couldn't get one. I'll shut up about it.'

You let him go and walked out of the kitchen. Fred felt kinda bad. He really wanted you to be happy. A lot of the things for the marriage had been arranged already.

He sighed. Couldn't there be a solution that was good for both of you?

Later that month it was Christmas. You two were about to celebrate but Fred left in a hurry. You were sitting in the living room in your Christmas sweater. It was your first Christmas together and he wasn't there... But then you heard the door open.

'Fred?'

Fred walked out off the hallway and quickly closed the door behind him.

'Hey.' He smiled.

'I was wondering where you were.' You smiled while walking over to him and kissing him.

'Go sit back down.'

'Why?' You asked.

'I've got you a present.'

You sat down and looked at him. Fred opened the door to the hallway.

'Come on.' He spoke with a slightly high pitched voice.

Before you knew it a tiny husky puppy entered the room.

'Happy Christmas.' He smiled.

You looked at him while covering your mouth.

'Really?' You asked.

Fred smiled at nodded. You felt a few tears roll down your cheeks. It was pure happiness. You wiped your tears away while the tiny dog made its way towards you. You picked it up and hugged it.

'I thought you didn't want a dog.'

'I saw how much you wanted it. I thought maybe there is a good solution in which we're both happy.. but then I realised that as long as you're happy, I am.'

You put down the dog for a moment and walked over to him. You hugged him and he hugged you back.

'I love you.' You sniffed.

'I love you too.'

You looked up at him and kissed him.
