Meet and Greet

I woke to the sound of roaring right infront of me. I jolted up and awake almost falling from the horse but caught myself on it's flank. I tried to process what's going on and saw a huge blue beast right infront of us.

An unintentional scream came out my mouth. I immediately covered with my hands but everyone was already looking at me. The prince, panicked he faced the growling creature again. His glaring eyes locked on us. His growl then started forming words.
"In... tru.... ders...." he growled slowly but we all know what he meant.

The prince made the horse back off cautiously. Trying to explain "No.. listen, we're just here to look for weapons and alliances-"
"Must... go.." he growled again.

We all thought this was a chance and followed, giddying their horse. But just when we were about to go. The beast launched at us. Atleast that is what we thought. Just as we ducked. It hit something behind us. We didnt know what it was but it made us run away quickly.

Suddenly someone started screaming "GO MISTER BEAST!" He yelled through the echoey night. We all come into a halt and looked back. The blue beast with black stripes was fighting what it seems to be a huge cat that was going to attack us from behind.

He was defending us, not only us but the entire village for sure.

The tale was true. The nightly beast was true.

We could find alliegance in this place after all.

We all watched the blue beast fend off the other with it's fierce attacks. Until it finally left.

"How often does this happen here that they'd call it 'nightly' ?" Brad asked in curiosity. "A peculiar village this is."

Prince Felix suddenly got off his horse and tried peering closer. "Where is he going?!" I ask the other two. "Maybe he's seeing if he could make this beast defend and fight for an entire kingdom?" Sir Mark answered rather specifically.

We all looked and saw the beast glaring back at us with its glowing purplish eyes. Then it ran away.

The prince reached out his hand "No Wai-" he was too late. It left to the shadows. It would be impossible to find him in a dark night like this.

He looked around for any people around and saw the tender again. "When can we see him again?!" He asked quickly. The tender smiled. Ugh. Creepy..

"The next Night your highness! Unless of course. Another unknown dark creature attacks us."

He looked at the moon. "There's no time." He spoke in a hushed tone.

We walked around the village while the horses stayed at a cheap barn in this village.

It was halfway through the night, and we haven't come across anyone who knows this beast enough. They all just know that he's there to protect them, and praises him for it. Prince Felix has had enough and tried to find the best possible place to stay in for. "Brad?"

"Right."
Brad immediately went for the first Hotel he saw. While his highness hunched down putting his head on a lightpost, grunting.

Sir Mark looked at the prince with discomfort. Felt like giving him space and ran to Brad. Meanwhile I was there standing a foot away from him. Awkward.
