*** Grady's POV ***

I woke up to Kaitlyn's body pressed against me. She was sound asleep, but I had to use the bathroom, and I kept hearing a strange noise, so I needed to investigate what it was.

After coming out of the bathroom, I stopped in the hallway when I heard a faint meow that sounded like it was coming from my camera and editing room.

"There is not a cat in there," I muttered to myself as I quietly walked to the door, opening it up and turning the light on. "I'm just going crazy."

I looked around the room and didn't hear or see a cat, so I turned around to leave until I heard the meowing coming from the closet. Gently, I opened up the door and saw a chunky little grey and white blob staring back up at me from a box.

"I swear to fucking god, Kaitlyn," I muttered as I picked it up, storming into our bedroom and flipping the light on, throwing it on the bed at her. "Kaitlyn Nicole Jillard, you have 2 minutes to get rid of this thing."

"What?!" She said as she sat up, taking the kitten in her arms. "Grady! No! I found him at work the other day."

"Get rid of it, Kaitlyn!" I said as I watched her stand up, still cradling it. "I don't want a cat in my camera room where it could chew all of my stuff up. Do you have any idea how expensive that stuff is?"

She rolled her eyes as she sat him back down on her spot on the bed.

"I've had him in there for two days so far, and he hasn't done anything, you're just dumb and haven't caught him yet," she said as she reached down and pet his tiny head. "Grady, please," she pouted as she looked at me with a pout, walking over and standing in front of me.

I pushed away lightly as I shook my head.

"No, I said what I said," I said, not wanting to give into her. "Get rid of it, now. Take it to a shelter."

"NO!" She yelled, making me jump. "Grady, cats don't do well in shelters! If I take him to one that's already full, they'll kill him!"

"So take him to a no-kill," I said as I looked down at her. "We're not keeping him anymore. That's final."

She started to cry as she walked over and picked him back up, holding him in her hands.

"Grady!" She sobbed. "How can you be so heartless?!" She sniffled as she looked down at him. "He's just a baby."

I was trying so hard not to give in, but I really didn't want Kaitlyn to cry anymore, so I was trying to stand my ground.

"You can't live here and have a cat," I said as I watched her hold him. "It's either you move out or get rid of the kitten."

"Can I have some help packing my stuff?" She said as she stood up, holding him. "I'm not getting rid of him."

I rolled my eyes, sighing as I rubbed my face.

"You're not seriously choosing a baby animal over me, are you?" I questioned. "You can't be that attached to him already."

She started to cry again, holding him against her body.

"If a shelter kills him, it'll be on you!" She said as she bounced the kitten in her arms. "I hope you can live with that."

I groaned, tossing my arms up. It looked like I wasn't going to win this fight.

"Fine, fine," I muttered as I flipped off the light, going to get back in bed. "But I'm not taking care of the stupid thing. He's one-hundred percent your responsibility. If he chews on any of my equipment, he's out."

"Yay!" she smiled widely, wiping her tears as she leaned over and kissed me. "Thank you!"

I grumbled, pulling up the covers once again.

"Go to sleep, you've got to be at work at 10, and I have to finish editing a video for Gerald since Rachel didn't have time to do this one," I said as I watched her get in bed. "Without the kitten."

"He sleeps in here or I go to the guest room," she said as she laid him between us. "Take your pick."

"Goodnight, Kaitlyn," I said with a loud sigh as I kissed her forehead. "I love you."

"I love you, too," she grinned happily as she looked down at the kitten. "And I love youuuuu. We're gonna have so much fun together."

I can't believe I just lost an argument over a cat all because she cried.
