After Aaron put the credit card away, he pulled out his cell phone, speed dialling Pixie.

"Hey, Boss. You know, yoga pants do make my ass look awesome," Pixie said when she picked up the phone." Never mind, I really don't want you checking me out. What's up?"

Aaron shook his head before responding, "Hey Pixie, firstly we have a client, so I would like you to come back as soon as you can.  I take it you have the truck?"

"Hmm, my ass does look awesome in these." Pixie said under her breath, before answering, "Yeah, Boss I knew you weren't going to need it until five, so I borrowed it."

"It's all good, but we are going to be doing a lot of running around, so we may want a smaller vehicle that's better on gas and easier to find parking. Could you please park the Beast in the storage and bring the Stinger"  Aaron asked, making quick notes on his laptop.

"Ummm, yeah.  Stable the Beast and grab the Stinger.  Have I told you how awesome you are?"  Pixie replied in a distracted voice.

This grabbed Aaron's attention, "Why is your last comment making me very nervous, Pixie?" He asked with apprehension, a chill running up his spine.

"Oh, Boss you're so silly. Why are you so nervous? Everything is fine. I think we need a vacation after this job, just to help you relax." Pixie responded quickly, with a little chuckle. "See you shortly." She said before she hung up.

Aaron quickly texted Pixie 'Please text me when you are outside', then went back to his laptop.

After finishing up the last of the reports, he reached over and picked up the phone, dialling Martin's cell number.

"Hey Aaron, what's up?" Martin asked when he picked up.

"Hey Martin, you busy? I just wanted to ask a couple of questions." Aaron inquired

" I am crazy busy, but I have an idea why you are calling me, the Sandersons paid you a visit," Martin responded, sounding a little distracted. The sound of typing could be barely heard in the background.

"I was a little surprised when they said you recommended me. I didn't realize you were investigating that one." Aaron said, leaning back in his chair.

"You're right I wasn't on the case, it belonged to Fernandez and Larsen, they busted their tails on that case.  The reason I approached the family with your name was, there were a couple of leads the higher-ups did not want them to pursue.  One's that if the press found out we were looking into, would have looked very bad on the department. You know PR nightmare." The detective explained.

"Cool, I get it.  A private citizen can move with this more stealthily than an official investigation. So fill me in with what you know" Aaron responded

"Don't really have time to chat, as I am working on the Matthews case, but I just fired off the file to your email. Got to go, talk to you later." Martin said just before disconnecting the call.

Aaron heard the new email tone from his laptop. Switching over to the email he saw a large file attached to the email Martin sent him. The attachment was labelled Vampire Killer.

"For your eyes only, Jackass. Captain Henderson" was all that was written in the message area.  Captain Henderson was Martin's boss, and one of the few upper ranks in the police force that felt  Aaron was one of the few good Private Investigators. He also liked to grind Aarons gears if he could.  Aaron realized that this recommendation actually came from higher up than just his friend.  This case was starting to get more intriguing.

Downloading the attachment, and saving it into a folder named Sanderson.  Aaron decided he should look through some of the files.  The first few were the missing person's report and initial crime scene investigation reports, nothing the news had not broadcast.  Checking through the list of files, he came upon one labelled A4U.

Aaron realized whoever named this file, it was done to grab his attention.  Continuing to follow this electronic trail of bread crumbs, he opened the file.

The file contained contact information for an Isaac Jacobson and a small write up.  The write up suggested Mr. Jacobson had an idea of what had happened to Jennifer Sanderson, but it was just too out there for the police to be able to take seriously.  The informant had intimate details of how the body was found, her wounds, and other small facts of the case.  The only reason the police had not suspected Mr. Jacobson as he had just returned from a business trip in Europe and had an ironclad alibi.  Aaron sent the contact information to his cell,  shut down the laptop, then looked at his watch, wondering what was taking Pixie so long.

Just then the front door opened and Pixie pranced in, "Hey Boss, don't worry I found a parking spot out front and decided to come and get you personally." She said cheerfully as she sauntered over to his desk.

Aaron looked at Pixie, remarking, "I guess you didn't get my text, or you forgot something up here?"

"You are an ass, you know that right?" Pixie fired back, with a mischievous glint in her eye. "I am not your chauffeur, I am not your secretary or your employee. I am your partner and best friend" Pixie walked right up to him and sat across his lap, back resting against one arm of the big office chair and draped her legs over the other one.  She looked into his eyes, a challenge hidden in that violet gaze.

"  I have never thought of you as anything but my equal in the business. I know you are my best friend, and I know your ass looks great in tight pants." Aaron replied as he slid his left arm under the crook behind her knees and his right arm behind her back. Pixie squeaked in shock when he quickly leaned forward and stood up with her in his arms. Aaron dropped Pixies legs, pivoting her to walk beside him.

"That was fun, can you do that again" Pixie said, smacking Aaron's butt.

"I could always carry you like a sack of potatoes." Aaron replied with an evil grin.

Pixie turned a steely gaze on him. "No thank you, I remember what happened last time." Rubbing her backside in memory. She reached over grabbing Aarons Gortex jacket off the hook and tossed it to him. Catching it he slid it on, covering  his back holster .

The pair left the office, locking the door before heading to the elevator.  Aaron caught their reflection in the mirror like elevator doors and had to stifle a chuckle at the scene.  His husky six foot frame looked huge beside Pixies five foot three elfin form.

"What's so funny?" Pixie turned to look at him.

"Our reflection in the doors.  We look like a knight and elven ranger" Aaron replied with a slight grin.

"You mean the princess and the ogre. Man you are the biggest geek I have ever met" Pixie replied back sarcastically.  She quickly blew him a kiss through the reflection then winked.

When the elevator arrived they stepped on and pressed the down button.
