'Sir Caden!' Harry's voice can be heard after the sound of the car door is open.

'Called Yuan,' Darren said.

My body is lifted and carried inside. It moves around before being put on the bed. Someone strips my clothes and covers me with a blanket.

'Give me a moment to check,' now it's Yuan's voice.

A cold metal running through my body. His hand checking temperature and heart rate. My arms are getting pricked by a needle. It's probably an IV as the needle stays on my arm. A cold towel on my forehead then I was left alone.

From a distance, I hear people murmuring about something.

I can't keep up with everything around me and fall into a deep sleep.

The next time I woke up, it was in the middle of the night. I still feel very weak and the headache is killing me. Darren is not beside me and I found an IV drip is attached to my arm.

Why do I fall sick? I question my sudden drop. I feel just fine that day. Moving on, now I feel dry and try to reach the water from the side table. As I try to pick the glass, my hand betrays me, slipping the glass from my grip and dropping it to the ground. The sound of broken glass fills the room. I am whispering an apology to no one, hoping I won't disturb anyone. Heavily, I moved my body to the side of the bed and tried to pick my mess up.

"Don't move!" Darren's commanding voice was heard. I look at him who is now walking towards me. He kneel in front of me and gather the shattered glass. "Sorry," I said as I didn't expect him to clean my mess. He threw those shattered glasses then came back to me. "Lay on the bed," he said again. "I'm thirsty," I said. He poured water onto another glass then helped me drink it. Did he eat something wrong? Why did he suddenly act kind to me? I gave the glass back after emptying the drink and then lay back on the bed. Darren walks away for a moment then comes back with his laptop. He sat on the edge of the bed, beside me, then continued his work. I just silently looked at him for a moment. Looking at this close his face and body actually really my type. Sad that his personality is bad. At least he tried to act nice for now.

I become sleepy again after a while. I tried to fight the sleepiness but it just made my headache worse. "Good night, Darren," I said softly before closing my eyes again and submitting into darkness.

I can't move my body but I can hear people talk around me. 'Why is his temperature rising again?' Darren's voice. 'His condition has been declining for a while. I already gave him medicine but the effect is slow,' Yuan's voice. 'What the hell happened?' Darren asked again. 'It's supposed to be a common cold but I think overwork and malnourished also takes part in worsening his condition. Besides, the weather in this territory has become unstable since last week. He was a Southerner, probably his body can't handle this,' Yuan explained. 'Just let him rest for a couple more days. The medicine will help him adjust faster.' I really want to wake up but I just feel cold and have a headache. I hope all of this past faster.

The next time I woke up, again, I felt just fine, like nothing ever happened. My condition seems to improve compared to these past few days. I don't know how many days have passed but I'm sure it wasn't a day or two. Really, what happened to me?

"Caden, you finally woke up!" Harry's voice was heard from across the room. He immediately approached me. I smile at him. "Hi Harry," I said with an unexpected hoarse voice. "Here some water, your throat must feel so dry," he said, then helped me to sit up and gave me the glass. I gulped some of it down before giving it back to him.

"What day is today?" I asked him. "It's Monday. You've been out for five days," he answered. "What happened to me?" I asked again. "Sir Yuan said you caught a cold because the weather is changing. Also, you are malnourished and overworked," he said. I didn't expect the malnourished nor overwork part. Yes I've been skipping dinner and breakfast sometimes, but I don't think I ever overwork. Compared to my previous lives, I actually live easily here. Is it really the weather?

"You finally awake?" Darren suddenly appeared and talked to me. I look up after being lost in my thoughts to see him walk towards the bed. He put his hand on my forehead, "Your fever has gone down and you look okay," he said. What's with this sudden affection, he kinda creeps me out.

"Change up, you are having breakfast with me," he said then instruct Harry to help me prepare myself. Okay. It's become really creepy. What the hell just happened to him? Since when did he become kind?

I walked into the dining room where I saw Darren sitting on talking to George. The food has been served but it seems he hasn't touched it yet. Darren gave me a gesture to sit down in front of him when he saw me. I do what he said.

"Move the meeting to ten and said to them I only have time until twelve so tell them to report briefly," Darren said and tell George to leave. A servant poured my glass with water and I gulped some down. "Eat up," Darren said. I took some food on my plate and started eating it. I haven't eaten breakfast for so long and I used to skip dinner and just eat brunch so that the act of swallowing early this morning becomes troublesome.

"You don't have to wait for me at night anymore," he said and I nodded. "And you know I never gave you any deadline for the translation work right?" he continued. I nodded again and continued eating my breakfast.

The room became silent for a while. Darren suddenly gave a long sigh. "I tried to make things right between us. I'm partially one of the reasons why you were sick last time," he suddenly explained. Wow. I didn't expect that. "Okay," I replied, unsure what to say. "So, you have any concern here? God damn it! Speak up, Caden!" Darren address.

I look at him, raising one of my eyebrows. As long as I remember, this is the first time Darren actually said my name. I swallowed the food in my mouth and drank the water before speaking. "Well, I just don't like having work fill up, that's why I've been working non stop. Besides, I think it's just a few books left and I finish," I explain. "Also, I don't always work. Sometimes I just read the book that I want or go to the backyard when I feel stuffy," I added. Yes, and I think I've been slacking off in comparison to how I used to live.

"Do you have any request then?" Darren asked. My face lights up upon hearing this. I need to make use of his kindness before he changes his mind. "Let me go around the town," I said. I'm not gonna let this rare opportunity be wasted. I only learn the people of this world through books. I want a first hand experience! "Only once a week," Darren unexpectedly fast approved, "and you have to bring Harry with you." I give him a sincere smile, "Thanks."
