"Oh these are cute" I told kentrell as I picked up a pair of mint green and white pumas. Kentrell looked at them and nodded
"You want 'em?"
"No. I'll be fine" I responded as I put the shoe back and he looked around
"Aye!" He called out, catching the attention of a girl that worked in foot locker. She walked over to us and once she she laid eyes on me I recognized her from when I used to go to school out here
"Hey Noel"
"Hey"
Kentrell picked up the shoe that I just held and reached it out to the girl "lemme get the other shoe to this"
"Okay. I can get that for y'all" she replied with a smile before walking off. It didn't take long for her to return with the shoe
"Is this all for y'all?"
Kentrell looked at me and I nodded
"Okay then, I can check y'all out at the front"
Kentrell grabbed my hand and I followed behind him to the front of the store, meeting the girl there as she already started ringing up the shoes. As we waited I laid my head on Kentrell and watched her
"Okay, that'll be $145.32"
Kentrell reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of money. He slipped out two hundred dollar bills and handed them to the girl while putting the rest back into his pocket.
"Fifty-four sixty-eight is your change and y'all have a good day" she said as she handed Kentrell his change and I grabbed the bag
"Thank you. You didn't have to do that" I told kentrell as we walked out of foot locker and he threw his arm across my shoulder
"But I wanted too. You deserve whatever you want"
I reached up and pecked his lips twice before we continued walking again. As we walked so many people looked at us and I could hear my name being said multiple times but I chose to ignore it. Let the people talk
"How long it gone take them to get they shits done?" Kentrell asked, referring to liyah and Elena who were getting their eyebrows done. I laughed and grabbed his hand
"They probably gotta wait. Liyah was late and Elena's doing a walk in"
Kentrell shook his head and looked at me "Well what else you want outta here?"
"I'm good. This is enough" I referrrd to the shoes and he smacked his lips
"What else you want lil girl?"
I rolled my eyes and looked at him
"Noel! That you?" I could hear a girl's voice ask making both Kentrell and I look. Shakira, another girl I went to school with out here, walked over to us along with the same ratchet ass clique she's been with since middle school. She eyes immediately went to Kentrell
"I'm right here" I spoke up while snapping my fingers and she immediately looked at me
"It's been a while since I saw you girl. How you been?"
"Great" I plainly responded and her eyes shifted to Kentrell again but I wasn't worried at all. My nigga ain't friendly
"So is this your new boo? The one you post all on Snapchat."
"Nah I'm her side nigga" Kentrell sarcastically responded and I softly slapped his chest while laughing a little
"So how long y'all in town?"
"For a while. Why?"
She shrugged "just asking. We should all hang out sometime while y'all here"
"Nah she good" Kentrell told Shakira before pulling me off behind him and I burst out laughing. I could hear Shakira talking shit as we walked off but I didn't care
"This might be crazy, but I actually hate being home"
"Ion blame you" Kentrell responded "you'on fuck with nobody out here but the lil alien, I can tell the bitches that spoke to you fake as hell and these niggas obviously don't care about dying"
I followed his eyes as he mugged a group of guys that were standing around and I realized they were looking at me
"Don't pay any of these lame ass boys out here any attention. They think they can get any girl and they think they can beat every nigga"
After we passed through them Kentrell's phone started to ring so he pulled it out of his pocket and looked to see who was calling. I looked as well and saw that it was baby joe.
"What this nigga want?" Kentrell mumbled as he answered the phone and put it to his ear "waddup lil nigga?"
I could hear baby joe talking, loud as hell telling Kentrell something about Ben. Soon Kentrell burst out laughing "What?.."
He put one of his hands to his other ear and walked off a little down the hall that led to the bathrooms so he could hear better. I rolled my eyes and just as I was about to follow him, a hand grabbed my arm
"Noel. Wassup baby"
I snatched my arm away and turned around to see who was talking to me. It was Shawn, Madison's 20 year old brother. He always had a thing for me and hadn't given up on trying to get in my panties yet.
"I heard you and my sister ain cool nomore"
I just looked at him for a minute before going to walk off and he grabbed my arm again
"Damn you can't respond. I was just sayin, I still fuck witchu" he told me as his hand traveled from my upper arm and went to my hand "so wassup with you?"
"You really wanna chill out right now" I told him while snatching my hand away and he chuckled
"Oh you gone getcho lil boyfriend on me?"
"Shawn! STOP DAMN" I roughly pushed him away from me. Shawn looked at me some type of way
"You better be lucky I ain gone hit yo ass fa pushing me like that bitch"
"Who you calli-"
"FUCK YOU CALLIN A BITCH?" Kentrell asked as he yanked me out of the way and jumped in Shawn's face
"Nigga you jumpin in my face like you bout somethin. I seen you talkin all that shit on snap but guess what, you in OUR city now"

"Boy-"
I pulled Kentrell back and stood in front of him "fuck him. Let's just go"
"Nah, ain no nigga bout to get away with callin you a bitch now move" he pushed me out the way and I jumped back in front of him again
"Kentrell please. I already got enough going on right now... please"
There were people watching and being nosey by now and I wasn't in the mood for none of it. I should've known somebody was gonna try Kentrell and he's like a bomb ready to explode. He clenched his teeth and mugged Shawn
"Noel saved yo' life for now" he told Shawn while shaking his head before storming off. Shawn smirked and I glared at him then hurried after Kentrell
