late afternoon

2pm the following afternoon

"grace! grace!"
i heard faintly alongside tapping on my window, half asleep i stumbled towards the window to see lia outside mourning
"let me in"
groaning i headed downstairs to be greeted by my mum
"morning"
"afternoon" she corrected me smugly
"lia's here"
her face lit up with glee, she liked lia. the reason being she didn't know how addicted she was to the night scene.
opening the door i was face to face with my best friend who had panda eyes and ripped tights
"hello gracey"
"lia!" i gleamed before shutting the door
"morning anne!" she beamed at my mum
"morning lia" she said without the correction

2 hours later

"you should have been there!" she exclaimed lying on my bed
"it sounds good, but i ... i met a guy!"
she sat upright suddenly
"w- WHAT"
laughing i replied
"yeah! i was outside and this guy called matty came up to me, we talked for hours"
"this is something out of a movie or a book gracey, did you get his number?"
i shook my head and she scowled
"WHAT?"
"i didn't think about it! i was so disconnected to life at that moment lia"
her expression changed to warm and she hugged me tightly
"i'm happy for you, really really happy. now TELL ME MORE!"
"well we drank some vodka and talked about his ex .. i kNOW, not the best but i have him genuine advice and it felt good you know. to be like that with a guy again. it just felt natural"
"what did he look like" she said
"gorgeous. so, so gorgeous. black ripped jeans and a leather jacket, his hair oh god his hair was curly and untamed, his eyes deep brown and he had the most crooked smile but it was beautiful"
she started in awe and wiped her eyes
"what?" i asked
"i'm happy for you, so happy"
i couldn't stop smiling after she said that,, an encounter with a boy at four am truly changed me
