72 ~ Little Miss 32B

Eloise was worried. The boys weren't talking to Sirius because of the prank and it was certainly taking a toll on the boy, it being over a week since he had spoken to any of them. He tried countlessly to talk to the rest of the Marauders but the only one who would pay him any attention was Eloise. She wanted to be annoyed at him for what he did to Remus, but after looking at him injured in the Hospital Wing, she didn't want to be away from him. The boys weren't the only ones giving Sirius the silent treatment, Robyn had been told of the prank and had given Sirius a nasty glare when she walked past. Lily however, was acting rather nicely to the boy, thoroughly confusing both him and Eloise. Upon asking her she merely shrugged and said,

"I think there are enough people ignoring him and it isn't like Snivellus didn't deserve it."

Since the argument had began, Sirius had begun sleeping in Eloise's dorm with her, much to James and Marlene's annoyance,

"Are you kidding?" the blonde girl asked, "Why does he have to stay in my dorm?"

"Because he isn't welcome in his." Eloise argued, crossing her arms, "So you'd better play nice, Marls, otherwise I'll tell Caleb all about those tissues in your bra."

"You wouldn't!"

"Just try me, Little Miss 32B!"

James, took a much more angry approach to the situation,

"So you're telling me..." he began when Eloise told him of the sleeping arrangements, "That he pulled a prank which endangered our lives and Moony's secret and he's getting rewarded by being allowed to sleep with my baby sister?" his face had gone red and Eloise rolled her eyes,

"Get over yourself, Prongs. He's your best friend, where's your trust in him."

"It disappeared when he did that to Remus, or did you forget about that?!" James shouted in return and Eloise's eyes narrowed dangerously,

"I know very well what he did, James, and I'm not happy about it either. However, I also happen to know how sorry he is." she gestured to Sirius' slumped figure on the Common Room sofa, his face emotionless as he stared into the fire, "He's a wreck! He was already disowned by his other family and now he thinks you've left him too! He cried to me about how much he regrets it and you can't even swallow your pride and talk to your best friend!" Eloise's hair had turned crimson but James' expression didn't falter, "How is ignoring him going to benefit you, James? What's it going to do?" her voice lowered so she wasn't shouting as he stared at her brother, "I'm pretty sure you've already got your point across." she finished and James sighed, his glare softening as he looked at his evidently broken best friend.

"I just- I can't believe he would do that." he whispered and Eloise sighed,

"I don't think he can either." she told him, "He beats himself up about it because he didn't think about how it would affect Rem." she looked up at her brother who was staring at Sirius, obviously discomforted by their lack of communication,

"I do miss him though." he muttered quietly and Eloise nodded,

"I miss you guys too...I just can't leave him." she hung her head and James pulled his sister into a hug which she gladly returned,

"I'm sorry for shouting." she told him, "But in moments like these it seems like the only way you'll listen."

"I'll always listen to you, Belle." he whispered, "Even if you have nothing to say." It was silent for a moment as the siblings hugged, although Eloise had to break it,

"That made no sense, Beastie."

"Yeah, I know...moving swiftly onward, I'll get the boys to talk to him."

"Thank you, Jamie, love you."

"Love you too."

Sirius looked up from the floor as someone cleared their throat in front of his seat on the sofa next to Eloise. His lips parted as he saw the boys stood there. James with a half smile on his face, Peter fidgeting nervously and Remus looking embarrassed. They didn't speak to each other and Eloise groaned loudly,

"Good Godric, talk to each other! It's like an awkward bloody first date." she shook her head and James flipped her off before turning back to Sirius,

"Listen, Pads..." he began, rubbing the back of his neck, "Moony, you talk!" he shouted abruptly, pushing the lanky boy in front of him. Remus rolled his eyes,

"Padfoot, we know you're sorry so we forgive you." he said simply and Sirius' face lit up,

"Really?!" he asked with a hopeful smile and Eloise felt the corners of her mouth tug upwards at his expression,

"Yep." Remus nodded with a small smile, "We took it a bit far and yeah, it was a fucking stupid thing to do," Sirius' head hung in shame but Remus put his hand on his shoulder, "but we all make mistakes." he said and Sirius' head lifted back up, "And, as far as we know, Snivellus hasn't blabbed about me, so...no harm done?" he grinned and Eloise giggled,

"Other than the physical injuries and mental trauma." She joked and stood up and throwing her arms around Remus,

"Hey, Moony." she greeted and Remus chuckled, wrapping his arms around his friend,

"Hey, Puff, what's this for?" he asked and Eloise shrugged, resting her cheek on his wooly jumper,

"I missed you." she muttered and Remus smiled, resting his chin on her head. She pulled away but stroked the jumper he was wearing, "This is really soft." she said, looking up at a smirking Remus,

"Do you want it?" he asked and Eloise's face lit up,

"Are you sure?" she asked as Remus took it off, wearing just a t-shirt, and passed the dark green sweater to the beaming girl,

"Yeah, take it." he said and Eloise jumped about before pulling the jumper over her head and letting it fall to just above her knees, due to the 8 inch height difference between them. Peter shook his head as Eloise and Remus hugged again,

"You two are so weird."

"Shut up, Wormy!" Remus shouted from over Eloise's head, "You're just jealous because Eloise doesn't ask to wear your jumpers!" Eloise laughed and pulled away from the hug, high-fiving the werewolf.

"It's awfully quiet isn't it?" she asked Remus and Peter, "James or Sirius would normally make some kind of joke by now." she muttered and turned to see James and Sirius hugging each other tightly. Her heart warmed as she heard James whisper something to Sirius,

"I'm sorry." he said and Sirius smiled warmly,

"Don't worry about it..." he said before uttering one last sentence which earned him a massive grin from James, "Brothers fight all the time."
