Elena's POV:

It had been a week since I confessed to dating Jake. My parents and my brothers had not touched that subject again and it frightened me. After panicking for a week, I effortlessly fell in my routine work and college.

Jake spends a few days with his mother then he had to fly to New York for an emergency meeting where he had been staying for a week. Brandon had not contacted him in a week and it did not bother me as much as it bothers him. Jake had been freaking out and dreading the day, he is going to meet his best friend aka my brother. I shuddered in horror thinking about the day Jake and Brandon would meet.

It was eight in the morning; I got ready for college and picked my bag. I was about to leave when my cell phone rang. My eyes started to twinkle and a broad smile spread on my lips when I saw Jake's picture popping on my screen.

"Hello, handsome. What pleasure do I owe to receive a call early this morning?" I asked in a singsong voice.

"Well, I wanted to hear your voice." He replied probably with a devilish smirk on his face.

"Why do I find it hard to believe?" I said knowing that he never calls me in the morning because I specifically asked him not to. My morning routine was a bit rushed and time-consuming where I could not afford the distraction.

"I need you to do something for me." He said.

"I am not having phone sex with you," I replied quickly.

"What!" He yelled making me cringe.

"I mean, it's eight in the morning and I will be leaving for a college soon,"

"What the hell are you talking about, Elena?"

"I know it's normal for couples to do these things but you know I am new and a little busy at the moment."

"I was not asking you for that," He sounded embarrassed.

"No?"

"Get your head out of the gutter, Princess," he said sounding amused. "But now that you have mentioned it doesn't sound like a bad idea?" He added.

"I thought... I'm sorry," My cheeks started to heat up and I felt like a fool for bringing that into his consideration.

An awkward silence fell between us while I tried to cool my bloody cheeks because I did not want to look like a red crab in the morning.

"W-why did you call?" I asked him.

"Do you still have my house keys?" He asked.

"Is this a test or something?" I asked him contemplating between telling him truth and lying.

"No..."

"I have your keys," I answered him truthfully.

"I thought so," He sighed.

"Are you not upset that I still have your keys and I didn't return them to my mom?" I asked him.

"No, I'm not upset at all." He replied making me confused.

"I guess that's a good thing," I said feeling giddy.

"Listen, my manager is going to drop by at my house around noon and I want you to hand him a black folder that is in my closet."

"What is the title of the folder? How am I going to identify the one you want?" I asked.

"It is the only folder that I have in my closet and there are papers of Beta Industry inside," he said.

"That makes sense. My class will end around twelve so send him around twelve thirty."

"Yes, ma'am," He replied.
