"everyone, this is taehyun." i introduce.

it's silent for a moment. then an explosion of reactions and pretty boys envelops taehyun, pushing him towards the table.

when i sit down, i see four other people i don't know.

"um, hello?" i say at one who's staring at me. he looks away, cheeks flushed. i laugh and wave. "what's your name?"

taehyun pops up next to me. "that's soobin, he's my big brother."

soobin glares at him then waves at me. taehyun continues to introduce his brothers.

"—and that's yeonjun, beomgyu, and hueningkai."

"hi!" i wave. they each smile back and wave, but soobin sits quietly, eating his lunch.

i turn to taehyun on my left. "i guess he's not much of a talker?"

taehyun shrugs. "he's just shy, he'll come around eventually. he looks over to beomgyu and immediately starts yelling.

"THE CHOPSTICKS ARE NOT FOOD!" he shouts, hitting poor beomgyu upside the head with his own utensils.

"ah! but—"

taehyun gives him a glare, and beomgyu's cheeks flare up.

"yes, sir."

we resume the meal with a messy table full of boys eating cake. jin has insisted on grabbing a cake for the new additions to "the family".

"then am i the dad?" jimin pipes up. "since i'm the only one dating."

"NO!" jin smacks his head with a plastic plate. "you're only maknae line you stupidly cute jimin you. you're obviously a brother, and jaynie is your sister."

chocolate milk nearly shoots out my nostrils.

"ew! invest." taehyung says, shuddering.

"no, hyung, it's innest." jungkook corrects.

hoseok tuts, wagging a finger at him. "y'all are both wrong, it's interest."

yoongi chimes in. "kids, you've got it all twisted, it's pronounced impressed."

namjoon face palms.

i giggle along, patting namjoon on the back in comfort.

taehyun, slipping into the seat beside me, reaches for sushi that jin is handing him. in the process his hand brushes mine.

"ah, sorry." he says, looking away. i give him a smile and take the sushi with my chopsticks.

"say ahhhh."

he opens his mouth reluctantly for me to stuff the food.

"haha, taehyun's a baby!" soobin calls out, pointing. taehyun makes a pouting, angry face that causes namjoon to pinch his cheek.

"ow! hyung..." he whines.
