The sun had just set. Niphredil was standing in the balcony. the cold breeze was moving long silk curtains. It brought a smell of pine trees from the woods on the heights. A few stars were shining in the twilight. A nightingale was singing from not far away.

Her heart was painful. She blamed herself for Lótë's death. Her memories with Lótë was running in her mind. Tears ran down her face again.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door. "come in." said Nipherdill and wiped her face. The door got open and a woman came in with a tray of food in her hand. She was so beautiful. Her kind eyes were like a beautiful spring night sky, bright with the light of stars.

"Good evening. You must be Niphredil. I'm Arwen, your cousin." said Arwen with her beautiful calm voice.

Nipherdil smiled. "It's a great pleasure to finally meet you, my lady. I've heard many things about Arwen Undómiel, yet none could describe her glory and beauty." Said Niphredil.

Arwen smiled warmly and put the tray on a table. She came to Niphredil and took her hands in hers. "I'm sorry for your grief." said Arwen.

"Thank you, my lady. It may look odd to you but Lótë was so dear for me." said Niphredil.

Arwen shook her head. "Not at all. Come and sit, please. You must eat something. How do you feel?" She asked and guided Niphredil into the room.

"Better. Thanks to your father." said Niphredil and sat on a chair. Arwen sat as well.

"A party is going to be held tonight. All of us would be happy if you join us. I can help you get ready." offered Arwen.

But Niphredil shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I'm not in a condition to come. I prefer to rest." she said.

Arwen looked at her pale face and caressed her cheek. "As you wish, my dear." she said. "You know, you remind me a lot of lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn." said Arwen with love evident in her eyes.

"They talk about you a lot. They love you so much." said Niphredil. Arwen's smile grew wider. "so do I." she said and stood.

"I leave you to rest. My father asked me to tell you something. The council will be held tomorrow. He wants you to attend it if you can." said Arwen.

"I will be there." replied Niphredil and stood too.

"farewell, my dear cousin. See you tomorrow." said Arwen with her lovely voice.

"farewell, Arwen. Wish you a great night. I suppose Aragorn must be there too." said Niphredil playfully.

Arwen's cheeks became a shade of pink. "well, yes he will come too." said Arwen and dropped her face.
