"What the hell were you doing?" James growled at me.

"Is that a trick question?" I asked. I thought it was pretty obvious... just saying.

"You could have gotten hurt or worse," he growled. His eyes were shifting back and forth from their normal color to black.

"I am not the same girl I was when I left here. I can fight my own battles and win every single time without fail. I don't need some stupid prince charming to save my royal ass," I growled back.

"Do not get into another fight without me being there to watch over you. Understood?" He practically commanded.

"Why do I have to take orders from you?" I spat.

"Because I am the Alpha on this land and you will treat me with some respect," he said while his eyes turned completely black.

"I lost all respect for you when you left me on the ground crying my eyes out after you rejected me," I replied breaking eye contact. That seemed to jar him enough to come back from his wolf side. Before he could say another word I was out of the room and out of the house. I was walking into the woods. I had to be alone. I felt like I was going to cry and no one can see me cry. Ever.

I thought I made it away but I felt a hand grab my arm. I turn around and see James holding onto my hand tightly. The tug on my arm made my shoulder start to throb from my cuts.

"I-I'm so sorry," he stuttered. He looked like a mess. I know it had only been a few minutes but it looked like he was on the verge of tears. I wanted to be repulsed by a guy crying but somehow I found it sweet.

"Why should I believe you?" I questioned. I was still trying to pull myself together. It had gotten easier once he had touched my arm. Damn that stupid mate connection.

"Because ever since that night I have been thinking about you. I can't get you off my mind. It was horrible what I did to you and I regretted it the instant I did it. Once I got back home I rushed to your room and once I saw that all your stuff was gone my heart broke. Please forgive me for yelling at you and bossing you around. I had no right to, even if this is my land," he said with his eyes lowered to the floor. James looked so sad.

"I will forgive you, but I you're also right. I also need to treat you with more respect, this is your land after all. I need you to have a little faith in me. I know what I can do and I will not lose," I told him using me business voice. He nodded his head but his eyes widened when he looked at my shoulder. I looked there as well and noticed three big claw marks. I forgot that the idiot laid a mark on me. It must not be too bad though since I quickly forgot about it.

"You're hurt," he said while looking at me like I'm a kicked puppy. I shrugged my shoulders before saying, "It doesn't hurt."

"I am taking you to the pack doctor immediately," he said.

"It's not that deep. It can wait."

"Nope, you are going now," he replied while trying to stare me down.

"Who's gonna make me?" I asked with a small smirk.

"Me," he replied before throwing me over his shoulder and walking back to the pack house. Halfway there I got tired of him carrying me.

"You know I have my own two feet, right?"

"Yes," he answered.

"I can walk from here," I said while rolling my eyes.

"You can but I'm not going to let you," he said. I let out a sigh and decided to just let my body go limp. It took a few minutes before he finally got into the house. James carried me past the kitchen which Ethan was in and he gave me a look that pretty much said, 'What did you do this time?'

I let out a sigh and a roll of my eyes and he got the message that 'someone' was being overprotective. James carried me to a room and set me down on a table. He left the room and then returned with the pack doctor in tow.

"What is the problem here?" The doctor asked. I was about to respond when James said, "She has a bad claw mark on her shoulder."

"How did this happen?"

"Well-" I began before being rudely cut off by James again.

"She go into a fight."

"Are you the one responsible for that other boy being hurt in the other room?"

James said, "Yes, she is."

"James, I know how to speak. I can answer the doctor's question myself," I said while addressing James. He rolled his eyes and I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Your natural healing will kick in soon so it should only be a few hours until the wound knits itself back together," the doctor said.

"Can't you give her any medicine to heal faster or to relieve her pain?" James questioned.

Before the doctor could answer I said, "I don't like taking medicine and I don't feel any pain."

The doctor nodded his head and James gave me a weird look. I rolled my eyes before standing up and walking out of the room, James was right behind me. I walked up the steps and to our room, I hopped into my bed and passed out from exhaustion.
