My so-called chambers were nothing like I could've dreamt. The space seemed unlimited from the inside, decorated with precision and thought. The reoccurring theme was a dark green, with hints of gold and brown. On my left and in the middle of the main room stood a king-sized bed, the green covers matching the curtains in front of me. Even the carpet on the floor contained the colour, but the room still managed to keep a peaceful and composed look. A few wooden dressers and side tables were decorated with golden handles, just like several other additions in the room. And I hadn't even seen the bathroom yet.

I allowed my hand to feel the texture of the bed before sitting down on it. When I went to remove my shoes, I realised I had left them in the cell. I chuckled to myself. I must've looked like an idiot, walking around on bare feet.

Then a loud creak sounded and I jumped from my place on the bed. A young girl appeared, and I assumed it was the maid. The brunette was barely of age, but she seemed to know exactly what she was doing. Why would someone as young as her be working here?

"M'lady. You needed assistance?"
She addressed me.

"Louise. Just Louise, please."
She tried to hide her smile.

"As you wish, Louise. Can I be of help?"

"Yeah, actually. I'm not exactly... Familiar. With your ways here."
I stepped forward, trying not to feel too uncomfortable around this girl. She was here to help me, after all.

"I see. Would a bath and some clothes suffice?"
I just nodded and let her lead me towards the other room. It was entirely embedded with white tiles, and the floor led straight into a large pool-like bath.

"This is gorgeous."
I mumbled speechlessly, and the girl just nodded. It was probably nothing new to her.

"I'll leave you to undress. Call for me when you have finished."
She says, but I stopped her before she closes the curtains between the rooms— it was strange to not have a door there.

"What did you say your name was?"

"Kyr."
Then she left.

Kyr helped me wash my hair with many different pieces of soap and mixtures. The way she massaged my skull—which was very awkward at first—made me more relaxed than I'd been in a while. I almost didn't feel the headache anymore.

I managed to do my body alone, but when I had wrapped a silk towel around myself and saw the many pieces of the dress she had chosen for me, the hopelessness reappeared. I felt stupid not knowing anything in this place. The differences between this world and mine became even more apparent than before.  Embarrassed, I called Kyr back in.
