*Maya’s P.O.V.*
I was at the library alone. My sisters had just left and I was planning to meet Peter back at the tree house when the sun set. That was in a few minutes. As I was putting the book back on the self I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.
It was a bright green light. Maybe pixie dust or a fairy using green pixie dust. I started walking over to it when it started to move.
Out of curiosity, I followed it. It lead me to a staircase I hadn’t seen. As if in a trance, I went up the stairs. It was darker as I walked up. I was too scared, but I couldn’t help other than to follow.
Before I reached the top, I woke up.
I sat up in the bed and gasped for air. I looked at Peter who was still asleep. The clock on the nightstand behind him said it was five in the morning.
I didn’t want to think of that dream, or whatever it was, so I had to find something to keep me occupied. I could do that research I promised TigerLily I’d do.
The sheriff's office wasn’t open yet, I knew that much. And TigerLily wasn’t up, so I couldn’t question her. I would have to do this with memory of what I knew already.
I paced across the floor as I scanned my memory.
TigerLily’s mother died when she was young, I think during her toddler years. Her so called ‘father’ was a good father till she was seven. After that he didn’t tell her stories, didn’t play with her, hardly ever talked to her. TigerLily knew very little about her mother because her father never talked about her. It wasn’t till she was about eight and a half her father started to drink. When she turned nine is when the abuse started.
None of this was helping me in anyway.
I groan (groaned and I turned) caused me to turn back to the bed. Peter sat up, tuning on the lamp on the night stand.
“What are you pacing for?” I groaned in a sleepy voice.
I answered speaking really fast. “OkaysoIwokeupfromanightmare anddidn’twanttogobacktobacktosleep. TokeepmyselfbusyIwasdoingsomeresearchIpromisedTigerLilyI’dofor her. Iknewthesheriffofficewasn’topenandTigerLilywasn’tup soIwaswasgothroughallthethingsIalreadyknowan-”
(A/N: I normally don’t like when people do that so there is a perfect example of how to irritate myself.)
I was cut off by Peter hugging me. I hugged back a second later.
“Now that you have calmed down a bit, mind telling me what this nightmare was about?”
