"What is the meaning of this, sasuke? Suddenly asking for us in a rushed meeting? After dinner too, to add."

Madara asks, his intonation is as stern as usual.

Right now, everyone is in the main hall, having an emergency meeting as per requested by sasuke.

Itachi, yuri, fugaku, mikoto, and also madara, all of them are in the room.

Sasuke has made his decision and found his resolution, therefore he needs to voice it out.

"I am so sorry for my rude attitude, calling everyone in a short notice. But i have an important request to make."

He says, with a loud and clear voice.

"And that is?"

Madara has become curious, since sasuke had never done anything like this before.

So why now?

Sasuke fixes his position and sits on both his legs.

Then, he bows on his knees with his head on the floor.

"Please cancel the arranged marriage of me and hinata hyuuga. I beg you, grandpa. I know it is for the clan, but betraying my bestfriend and marrying someone out of wealth is absolutely wrong. Therefore, i hope you will reconsider the engagement."

The room becomes silent for a while. Everyone is engulfed in shock.

It is so brave of sasuke to do that request after the decision has been made. Usually, madara's words are final. Anything that he said is absolute, and no one must disobey him.

So this is actually very bad.

"I refuse to accept that."

Madara's answer makes sasuke startles.

He immediately lifts up his head.

"But, grandpa-"

"I believe we made the discussion about this already. So no more issues must arise. The decision is final, and that's that."

Sasuke clenches his fist.

"No, grandpa! Please, I'm begging you!"

Silence.

"I will accept everything else. You want me to go to Hashirama's institute, then I'll go. You want me to be the accountant, I'll do it. The chief finance officer or whatever it is, I'll do it. I'll do everything. Perfectly, without any flaws at all! I even accept if you have anything else you want to add for me to do. Just please, cancel the engagement. That is all i ask of you."

Everyone is unable to say anything. The determination and desperation can be felt from his voice.

Seeing his situation like this, makes mikoto's eyes tear up. The son, that she carried for nine months, is begging like that for his own happiness. And no mother would feel happy by looking at that.

Fugaku notices the tears in his wife's eyes. Of course, that makes him uneasy. But in this situation, what can he do?

"So you are willing to go that far?"

Madara finally speaks after the long silence.

"Why, sasuke? Do you have something in mind?"

He asks again, expecting no answer from the boy. And like he expected, sasuke is now speechless.

"Or maybe, is this connected to that girl?"

He startles.

"So it's true. I figured out something is weird, but who could've expected that it's related to the girl. Listen uchiha, my decision is final. You will be engaged to hinata hyuuga, and that's that."
