Nandini had come to malhotra mansion since Raj and niyonika were out for the night. And she could stay without the fear of being caught. Since manik and nandini had gone official, there family members, much to their irritation and embarrassment have started paying more attention. Noticing not to leave them in the same room or staying the night.
While manik and nandini after dinner had changed into nightclothes , Manik was now running a comb through nandini's hair, solving the knots gently. Sitting on the bed, they were calm and peaceful.
N : Manik, I met someone today, someone fromthe branch of Canada
M : and
Manik's pace never changed , before he might have panicked at this thought but now he had nothing to hide. Nothing he didn't want to tell her. His thoughts belonging to her as much as they did to him
N : you never told me about the death threat on my name
Manik sighed. Nandini looked tense she didn't want to change the atmosphere between them, but this thought had not left her since morning
M : at that time I couldn't and now it was not important anymore. Princess I would tell you, but I know it would only bring you pain. So don't worry your pretty little head
Manik put the come down and kisses her head lightly. Then pulls her to his lap.
N : you know you can talk to me about anything right ,just like I do
M : I know
This was the best part about their relationship, their belief in each other. The understanding they had. About how there were no judgements just acceptance.
Cuddling on his bed Manik and nandini enjoyed moments of calm, the stress of the day leaving them. Manik was still playing with her hair when nandini broke the silence
N : sing a song for me please
Manik smiled at how cutely she had asked, so he sang for his princess, and like a lullaby to her thoughts his voice made her sleep. Manik too slept then taking her in his arms and looking at her beautiful face until his eyes dropped.
------ Next day Murthy mansion
It was now time for the prom, the year was almost coming to an end and nandini marvelled at how at the beginning she was doubtful of coming to India. Of whether her family would accept her again .
She and preeti along with the girls were going for shopping and she remmembers how Manik had asked her out for prom.
Last night she had stayed at his house, and today he had woken her up with kisses. Surprising her with breakfast in bed and there on the tray was a small note asking for prom.
It wasn't something extravagant but nandini knew his emotions were. His thoughts and how he had included this in there normal routine pleased her. Small moments like these were what matters the most.
She beamed and told his yes, and then he gave her a toe curling kiss.
Preeti brought nandini back from her thoughts showing her the many dresses she had shortlisted. They were rich so money was never a problem, Nanidni looked at the best dresses of big brands.
She was the murthy princess and today all eyes were going to be on her. And then she saw it, the one that screamed nandini murthy.

All them then together went for lunch and nandini was happy being in the company of her friends.
Mu : for a change, even I liked the shopping today
N : must be the company
Al : we all did notice you flirting with the sales boy
Mukti blushed and nandini was amused
P : he was kind of cute though
Ru : and you have a boyfriend
N : she can still look atleast
Nandini said good naturely instantly at preeti's defence . Teasing each other, gossiping about boys the lunch went on.
Al : well don't let Manik hear that
The corner of nandini's mouth turned up, as if she would really look at anyone besides him. And he to his great pleasure knew that.
Nandini's phone then dinged with a message and it was her boyfriend.
M : I love you
Manik seemed to do that a lot, tell her how much he loved her at random instances and everytime that made her smile.
N : I love you too.
Keeping her phone back, and paying the bills all them left the restaurant to get ready.
------ Malhotra mansion
Manik and adi were playing video games together as he had just gotten off the phone with nandini. He saw adi was beating him in the game and then realized he had paused the game
M : you are cheating
Ad : the fate of the world is in your hands and you are busy texting your girlfriend.
M : who is also your sister
Ad : hey you can't make me change my mind taking princess's name
M : well maybe this will change your mind then
Saying this Manik pushed aside off the sofa and his controller was in his hand.
Ad : what are you five
M : that's still 2 years older than you
Adi then got up and pulled the plug out, and the screen went black
M : what man
Ad : enjoy playing now. What's the time anyways we have to go pick the girls up
Adi went to the fridge and took a can of coke out
M : nandini told me that are back home
Ad : well then . Hey did you call cabir and Shravan to hang out sometime well.
M : yep and harshad too
Ad : I thought you were bitter enemies
M : were being the keyword
The doorbell rung and in a few minutes the boys were in the game room too . Their evening went by playing and talking. Manik and cabir with others also sung off key having a lot of fun. Before they went to get ready
Everyone needed to look good, it was the prom after all.
